The point is if the situations were reversed there would be a slim chance in hell that JCPD would catch anyone during a routine traffic stop because they literally do nothing.

Oh they love giving parking tickets, justified or not. It's a separate department than the police. But God forbid the police ticket anyone blasting through red lights and stop signs or going 20mph over the limit on narrow city streets.

I should have given a little more info about Jersey City Heights-- it was its own city until the late 1800s, and it is pretty geographically separated from the rest of JC--it's up on a cliff overlooking Hoboken. It's easy to get to journal square or Hoboken. I love Central Ave, which is the local main street. It is extremely walkable with many small businesses and family owned restaurants. We are moving out of a beautiful old townhouse that is divided into two units. I personally prefer the older buildings to the new "luxury" construction. The basement one br unit in our building was rented for 1200/month, so I think you should be able to find a nicer, non-basement 1br within your price range.

You said you got a “No Stopping or Standing” ticket, you sure didn't do anything wrong like not reading the signs?

You may not even need to do virtual court. They instituted an online ticket dispute process and you can upload your proof along with an explanation. I have had two tickets dismissed going that route.

When an easily avoidable mistake costs me time, money and energy, I think I reserve the right to blow off steam on a Reddit post. I parked in a legitimate spot, paid and got ticketed, any normal human would be frustrated by this.

No one "taxed you for existing." You allegedly did not follow the rules when storing your private vehicle in a public space. The people enforcing these rules are not "glorified hall moniters."

Either you misunderstood the rules, or the person enforcing them made a mistake. That is no reason to shit on public servants.

It's 10 minutes long. If you get bored of watching this woman repeatedly try and run people over, skip to the last three minutes for her explanation to the cops.

This is my understanding as well. If your backpack, etc. gets caught on the wall, you can let go of the button to immediately stop the lift.

Oh yeah. Great food, great coffee. The staff and owners are incredibly nice. It's usually.got free space to chill. A couch or two and tables. A little.busy at lunch time cuz of the courthouse but that just speaks to how good it is imo.
