Perhaps he understood that he could be apprehended in the city where he committed the murder so he did what anyone who doesn’t intend on being caught would do and left the city?
Same with the taqueria guy. I’m certain cops are checking his frequently visited spots in JC. But I highly doubt JCPD is working highway patrol in Kearny looking for him.

These potato chips are served in most bars in cities in Galicia Spain.
It's cool to see items like this, it's one the reasons Hudson Greene Market is a nice place to shop from time to time.
The Ukrainian stand they added in there as well is great!

I forget how many years it didn't work, so they spent $1m on that elevator. I remember there was even a post about it here and people joked, "I wonder how long until it doesn't work again." I think it stopped working the next week?

We are not even close to "turning all the housing supply into luxury rentals." And believe it or not an 800k old townhouse is not affordable. It's already expensive as hell. Thus it's better to put 5x the number of units there, some smaller and cheaper than that. If you were to replace every single old home in the entire city with 5x the units on the same amount of land rents would very clearly go down. You're asking for San Francisco pro single family policy and that does not work. Or you can try taking a quick trip to NYC and see how "affordable" all the downtown Brooklyn brownstones are since they never replaced them with more density. And if you don't like population growth I recommend inner city Baltimore or rural Ohio.

Reply to Best french fries in downtown JC? by dpw59
Not JC but the best fries I ever had were in Manhattan at Iris . Takes 3 days to prepare. The crisp level is otherworldly due to the first step of a glucose soak before the first cook. But for JC I like archer duck poutine and Ella Greek fries and of course McDonald's fries 🍟 when I feel really bad lol

Lack of an update isn’t terribly surprising — what local news even exists anymore? Hoboken Girl?
Also this isn’t how things happened. The one video that’s been shared here shows the front passenger fleeing on foot. You can also see the beginnings of the rear driver side passenger, a woman with a stroller (possibly a child), exitIng. She then walked SE down Canal street alongside 235 Grand. Driver stayed in the vehicle less than a minute before driving off, on the same sidewalk as the female passenger, nearly hitting her & turning left eastbound onto Sussex.
Plenty of people were on the ground taking pictures/videoing. I saw at least one person clearly capture the license plate. Those individuals are apparently not choosing to share the video (or doing so elsewhere & it’s not making its way over to r/ JC).
All three passengers had apparently been in Taqueria antagonizing the staff before getting into the SUV idling on Grove. It could have been stolen. I only saw from the point where all three were in the vehicle, had already run into the two victims, and were in the process of turning around on Grand before Marin. They returned, did some donuts in the intersection, struck the front end of the black SUV (also seen in that video, disabled where it was hit), & left down Grand. They finally returned a third time a few minutes later, more intersection donuts, before reversing into Taqueria.
So nevermind accurate reporting on resolution of this mess, I haven’t seen very accurate reporting on the base facts of the night. Despite dozens of witnesses and multiple cameras out.

Yup. NYC actually has much lower property taxes than most would expect, mostly because they are sticking it in your ass on every other thing.

He didn't murder anyone in the building. He just was the doorman and committed a murder elsewhere. I saw his mugshot in the news. He obviously was fired and I assume is now in prison.

Reply to Best value curtain installation in JC? by Cutedawg123
I know that Home Depot offers installation on these, as does Lowes. Ceiling mount hardware is pretty cheap and as long as you adequately template out ahead of time where everything has to go, it's not that hard. Make sure you're leaving extra room for the finial (the decorative piece on the end of the rod) on each angle, or if you're buying a bay window rod, ensure your measurements are good (or buy it from a place that will let you can return it).
Installation cost shouldn't be more than a couple hundred.

Went once and found the food to be pretty mediocre, really small portions, and bad service. Will not be returning.
