They’re building new things on like every other block in JSQ. They’re putting in a new park, this museum, all of the retail that comes with the new developments (Target at JSQ, restaurants and cafes) — that’s just off the top of my head. Idk how much more attention a neighborhood can get, frankly. Just a strange POV.

Pershing field was a better place to run before track was paved. An aide to Mayor Fulop said they would put in a few lanes of real running surface but its been a few years and nothing has been done. Bikes should not be allowed on track.

Heights should have a good running surface for people to run and walk on. During Covid years, Pershing field was good for exercise while Riverview-Fisk was mostly closed. Bring back ice rink asap.

I’m not protesting anything, I just think the area has been grossly overlooked while we waited 10 years for Kushner’s towers to go up. Some of you people need a sense of humor.

my favorite places are the fragments of the natural world still left:

the short but calm, beautiful boardwalk of caven point btw the stupid golf course and port liberte (it sparkles with lightning bugs in the summer)

the few times a year the Reservoir is open so you can hike the perimeter, it's like stepping back in time. (if they tear down those very OLD trees up there i will be so upset)

and

the fact that there are fewer than 100 steps at the 100 steps (i think it's 96. lol)

I do think that Fulop could be a better advocate. Agreed he doesn’t control but together with other mayors, they should flex their muscle more and better advocate for residents.

Lincoln park has a big dog run it should show up if you google it. Biggest I've seen and he/she would get a good run. It's fenced-in and also has a smaller little area gated off it. From the main part of Lincoln park, it's over the bridge crossing the US-9, almost by the Hackensack river. Little out of the way but it's nice and quiet the few times I've been over that way.

There is a public large dog park in Hamilton Park. The dog parks in Newport are all private, and the other public dog park downtown, which is behind shoprite on 1st St is smaller than the one at Van Vorst.

Don't go with your unleashed dog in LSP. There are numerous endangered and threatened species, including nesting birds.

Had signs up, someone parked anyway

I called the number and someone came out, but he didn't give a ticket or tow... so basically he came out to say I was shit out of luck

Your experience may vary

Actually they did. Between 1910-1940s JC saw a lot of big projects including PATH, mostly because of the local influence the city had. It wasn't just a city next to nyc. Secondly, who gives a fuck if anyone from NYC comes over. Not everything we do has to revolve around NYC you do realize that right? Fuck how NYC feels about it. If they come great, if they don't ok. Not changing my perception

I don't think you're even gonna find HEPA filters anywhere. If that's your benchmark, I would do what someone else said earlier and just call up the gyms, but I would be very surprised if you found any doing more than just asking that people wipe down the equipment after using it.

My booster efficiency is starting to wane, so I'm planning on masking up again at the beginning of the month, but it's been made blatantly clear to the public that we're on our own - no one in charge gives a fuck about seriously trying to end this on a more permanent basis other than mitigation for those who aren't at risk.
