Our famous corrupt back in the day Mayor who shaped much of modern JC, including the tunnel, journal square being a center of culture, the building of the huge sprawling 'modernized' hospital complex & maternity ward that is now The Beacon (one of the largest in the world at time). He had a desk with drawers on both ends that was reportedly used to leave bribes.

So that's making the list, you just learned a whole bunch about JC

Hopefully it was a rich anonymous donor. In other news, let's get working AC, in house nurses and crossing guards for all the public schools! Let's get a new anonymous donor to fund and oversee that. If the BOE gets its hands on the money it will vanish.

Don’t forget it’s right next to a train station that will get you to some of the best museums in the world that are inevitably going to be better executed in 20 minutes lol

This is not true. Landlords are going to charge the most they can, regardless of their own costs. Raising their costs isn't necessarily raising the rent. Not building more housing because of NIMBYism is what raises the rents -- also in the whole metro area, not just in JC alone.
