I legitimately think people have seen they can get away with it, which leads to more shit on the sidewalk, which makes more people not care either.

Oh that is good info! Horrible scammers but that also means the dog might still get found

They're probably just carpooling.

we noticed this too, it seems to have gotten WAY worse in the last couple days for some reason. and in my neighborhood someone’s not feeding their dog right bc there’s a lot of hershey squirts on the sidewalks. it’s terrible.

IMO as a long time dog owner- a lot of people who shouldn’t have dogs got dogs over Covid.

So we did some detective work last night and found the “dognapper” to be a scammer. The dog’s owners are elderly and didn’t know. Reverse phone number check and a little more research showed that this is a common scam. Unfortunately that poor baby is still out there :(

Weird story. In the middle of that park how did they get away cleanly? Wouldn't you chase them? or at minimum have description of the people involved or vehicle make/model/license plate?
so many questions on my end.

What's his nepotism status? Or is he a self-made low-level corrupt guy?

Friendly reminder that leashing your dog isn't just for the safety of others, it's for your dog's safety too.
Also, don't give money to criminals. Shitty situation all around really, I hope they find a way to track them through Amazon.

My guess is this is being handled by the State Park Police, not JCPD

Reply to Grove St vs The Heights by 3peatguy95
I live in the Heights and also work at Hudson Yards. I take the 119 or 123 bus to Port Authority and walk. It takes maybe 40 minutes total if the bus comes as scheduled. Occasionally I’ll take the light rail to the Path, but that takes more time.
I really like the heights. It’s decently quiet, but there are places to get food, parks, and it’s extremely close to downtown and Hoboken if you have a bike or car.

It's definitely in-character for the JC police to refuse to do police work. We still haven't fired the chief, so we officially approve of their performance, or lack of it.

Also, here's a voter turnout map from 2022
Of course you're fucking wrong. Downtown had the highest voter turnout in the city. But, again, spread misinformation because you have a superficial fetish with hating downtown.

I think most people are targeting her (supposedly) extreme aging in connection with a suspected drinking and/or drug problem, by far the most probable explanation for her behavior from the hit-and-run although she has explicitly denied it.
...Some comments are simply being sexist, I guess, but that's hardly the thrust.

Reply to comment by MsDemiBurch in what's your preferred hospital to go to? by MsDemiBurch
It was a year and a half ago. It felt like I was checking into a very nice hotel. Things seemed calm and orderly. Luckily, I was 100 percent fine and did not need additional services. But did learn that I have an elevated risk for cancer. So in 3 years will be back for checkups.

Weill Cornell in lower Manhattan. It’s close to the path train and if it’s not during rush hour- it can be a 20 minute drive. I had no wait in the ER and they were incredibly technologically advanced (a virtual doctor was on the screen at intake to help decide how to prioritize me and other patients walking in). I might have had prio because of the nature of what I was going through- I was sent in right away. The doctors and staff were professional and seemed to know what they are doing. I have been to JC medical center- that is like a third world country. Same with Hoboken. NYC may seem intimidating but you can get there really fast via public trans or car and it’s worth the car and expertise.
