i can smell the venti one from 3 blocks away. how they manage to make such a good cutlet out of a truck is utterly mind blowing to me

to be honest i even asked the guys on the truck, they say the answer is they fry it to order -shrug-

their sandwiches are all amazing but this one is the most surprising to come out of a truck at that quality

Just an fyi on flocktown, they definitely oversold memberships with regard to their crop yield. The idea of picking what’s in your box is nice, but you effectively have to set an alarm for 10am on Saturday to have a 2-3 minute window to race through their web store before any swap items will become sold out.

This wasn’t an issue two years ago and the choices were much more varied. It was primarily a bunch of different types of greens for much of this year.

If they get their act together this year then they’re worth it, especially for the $1-2 per order doorstop delivery. Other csas either charge more for that or require you to pick up at a central location like the farmers market at the path.

99 has them exactly in this package. I was there over the weekend. It’s the last aisle on the right side of the store. Same aisle as the eggs but opposite side. There’s even smaller bags of daikon strips which I normally get cause those huge logs is too much daikon for me. Go to h-mart some time and pick up some kimbap. It’s got pickled daikon in it too and it’s delicious

They are abundant at Hmart in various packaging such as tube shaped so you would slice it at home, presliced in a bag, etc. Here’s a maangchi recipe if you want to make it at home!

i always thought it was just borrowed by japanese-american restaurants because it all gets mixed up here, but i did just google and apparently it's called takuan in japanese and is indeed one of the traditional pickle dishes

Shitttt you responded too fast before I could edit. Go to mitsuwa in edgewater they have a whole pickle section called tsukemono, all sorts of this stuff. But yeah I think you can get them in jars or plastic.
