Hi; thanks so much for posting the architectural rendering and link! When do they expect to open, do you happen to know? Can't wait... this is even more exciting to me than W. Foods coming to Jersey City!

It’s called “Takuan”. It’s pickled daikon
Edit; Go to mitsuwa in edgewater and look for the Tsukemono area, all sorts of crazy pickeled shit

I did Flocktown two years ago. I really appreciated being able to customize and also being able to skip weeks and roll over the credits. In Brooklyn I had always done CSAs that were only every other week and I wasn't able to find any of those in JC, but I'm away enough that I needed something with an option to skip weeks, and this was even better. Only had an issue once or twice and they always fixed it very quickly. Even let you spend all the leftover credits at the end of the season on the fancy stuff or roll over to the next year
(only reason I stopped using them is theft in my complex in general has made me slow down the amount of stuff I'm getting delivered)

Not 100% sure but very likely you can find them in 99 Ranch, in the aisle next to the food court. An open fridge has all pickled vegetables, I believe this is some kind of radish. You won't find them in jars, maybe in vacuumed plastic bags?
If 99 Ranch does not have it, H Mart will definitely have it.

The article makes it sound like a national chain that is not nj based… maybe it’s franchised?

I really like Flocktown. Every week you can customize what is in your farm box. There is a nice selection of add-ons, like local meats and cheeses.

I just bought the Medium Share box. First year joining but I usually buy from them at the Grove St Farmer Market stand.

Check out farm to people, you get a delivery CSA every week (with varying sizes available) and you can add groceries to your order, so if you need pasta or eggs or something you can add it on and it'll come with the normal CSA delivery. Also, you can adjust what's in the CSA, usually you get, e.g., 10 of 12 things. So if you don't like one item, or want two of another, it's very easy to switch.
I've had it for more than a year now and it's been very reliable. The only issue is that it lacks the romance of getting everything from one farm, but the produce is all local so you're still supporting local farmers.

Community-supported agriculture, so like a subscription box from local farms for usually produce/flowers. I see some posts from last year or older on this sub but the links I saw in those seem inactive so just wondering if anyone has any updated recommendations

I remember when Patel opened back in the day. He was across the street from his current location. He would complain his rent was increasing to $700 a month back then.
Hes a good guy with a great family, good luck to them.

hudson grill is useful for a breakfast sandwich when i am hungover on Saturdays or a mediocre sandwich or salad when i am at work at harborside, but is 1000% not where i would go for any type of chicken cutlet scenario. venti food truck 100%. 2nd street bakery. hoboken Italian places.

Veloce is great. Slightly expensive but a full sandwich is about a meal and a half for me. Friendly people behind the counter.

it is korean and called danmuji. it is available at 99ranch, see below picture for the most common packaging i've seen, i'm 99% (see what i did there) it's in the fridge furthest from the entrance on the right hand side near the prepared food
