I had an issue with my uemployment claim, called his office and he got me in touch with the state assemblyman! Incredibly kind team that supports him.

That goes for about 95% of them throughout NJ

If she was under the influence of something, then she took a calculated risk and it paid off for her. I think fleeing the scene is a smaller punishment (both legal and political) than a drunk driving charge.

Agreed that Domo Domo is easily the best, but you’ll have to pay for it. For an everyday order, Honshu is good.

nope....... it's not a reasonable speed. You can waste your time replying back but I'm still going to say it's not possible because AGAIN I drive that street every day. You have to be a jerk to go that speed and more on that block. Simple there are people jaywalking every which way and depending on the time of day you either have kids crossing or addicts passing out or stopping mid cross. It ain't possible UNLESS you just don't give a sh*t about humans. Either way she's an ass for driving that fast no sober person would. See for your self and drive down that block. Then tell me I'm wrong so I can calm down for you 🙄🙄🙄.

El Sabroso is also fantastic, however, like many other the value is a thing of the past. I still go on occasion.

Yup. I remember calls to audit the MUA decades ago. If I recall, they tried and found it was too tangled to actually figure out! These agencies were made independent "authorities" for the expressed purpose of opacity.

Alright, let’s calm down. I wasn’t defending her, I was just disagreeing with what you said about 25mph being some egregious disregard for the safety of pedestrians. It’s a perfectly reasonable speed and an attentive driver would have more than enough time to stop for any pedestrians in the road. This incident wasn’t a result of her speed, it was a result of her being distracted.

i know a lot of buildings downtown are just not well insulated. I think someone posted something similar about a building in Newport. I run my heat very warm when im in the house (its 76 rn) and i sleep at a 70. My bill has never been more then 100$. Really depends on your building I think. I have a 1 bed with 4 very large windows, but not floor to ceiling.

I find it hilarious that people are hating on you for keeping your apartment in the low 70’s. They sound like my dad who refused to turn the heat on in the winter.

Yup, it was definitely in the price range. We haven't gotten our next bill yet so it's unclear how much of a difference it makes, but the apartment feels less drafty after the fact so anticipating it will make a difference

Check your physical bill for any other company names other than PSE&G...you could be paying a totally different company for your energy supply.
Once I had an extremely high bill from PSE&G, and there was this weird company name on it. Turns out I had been switched to another private energy supplier. They can charge whatever they want, and can even raise the price of an average kilowatt hour at any time.
Not saying this happened to you, but wouldn't hurt to check. Also, know that those wall mounted combination heating and cooling units that come with many luxury buildings are very inefficient and costly. In the winter and summer months, you have to run them constantly, and they gobble up energy like a Pac-Man pellet! Best wishes! hopefully it was a misread of your meter.

Cannot upvote this enough. I had a hand roll at Domo Domo for the first time a few months ago, bit into it and was like WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS OTHER SHIT I'VE BEEN CALLING SUSHI ALL MY LIFE??? Anything else is totally ruined for me now.

Would you say your bill was in the same price range too? Where the window closes I don’t feel any draft but it is noticeably colder in that area. Other than the high heat bill and elevators I love it here.

Agree it's strange news outlets haven't picked it up, but the post did contain pictures of smashed windows at Uncle Momo and planters turned over. If you walk down Grove, you can probably see for yourself.

What made you chose Staten Island? My buddy commuted from Staten Island to LIC daily and he said it was tough. I believe he took Staten Island railway to the Staten Island Ferry to the NYC Subway.
If you chose Staten Island because maybe you wanted something a little less dense in terms of population density, maybe you could look into Long Island: Nassau County?
