I drive that block every single day and It is extremely hard to even go 25. Especially that time of day. People running to catch the light rail or bus on the next corner. Lots of kids walking around to the school the next block. You have to have a complete disregard for humans and the neighborhood to drive that speed at that time. I drive down it around the same time too. Maybe another time when less people are walking around idk. But not that time.

Don't forget that living somewhere in Queens will save you $5,000 a year in tunnel tolls and gas getting to LIC. Not to mention the years taken off your life by sitting in traffic.

The only other viable plan is to do what my wife did when we lived on the upper west side and she needed a car to drive around Staten Island where she worked. She left the car there on Staten Island and commuted by public 5 days a week bringing the car home on the weekend. I have a client who works in LIC and lives in Journal Square. He doesn't mind his commute, it's actually only about an hour door to door.

I’ll take a look over there too. Based off my responses from everyone. Commuting from the area perhaps may be a headache. I’m not to familiar with the areas of NY vs. NJ. But trying to get acquainted and I think this was a good start and eye opener for me! I really loath using google maps becoming I feel like oh so very often the times that are projected are not reality. Even with me living in SI it states should only take 45 mins but it take 1.5 hours. Thank you for your response though and will definitely look into it.

These are high temps fyi. Maybe not to you, but like- compared to averages. It sounds like you may be running your heat way more than you realize.

For context- I have big windows too and leave my heat at 64 during the day and it almost never goes on, 66 at night. I mean- I wear a sweater.

Post disappeared from Nextdoor because a moderator aka JCDO Secretary, Jan Norland probably took it off. https://jcdo.org/elected-officers/ Ever notice how she NEVER posts anything that throws shade on HCDO/JCDO? Not a peep about Amy DeGise but she will repost everything that the Mayor posts.

The area of crime is a really rough part of the city. I would assume she was high OR doing something with her phone and didn't see. She kept going because yeah IF she had gotten out she would have been flipped the f out at. What's extremely terrible is that area is a block from a school and has 3 daycares on those corners. She easily could have hit a kid. She was going a ridiculous speed for that neighborhood. There are lots and lots of people walking around at that time and even 25 is hard to manage between traffic and pedestrians.

Several businesses were damaged along Grove St. last night, possible hate crime. It looked like the kiosk in front of City Hall was also damaged. There was a Nextdoor post about, which has now for some reason disappeared.

Laree Adda, Uncle Momo and Ibbys Falafel were targeted. My guess is that with that many businesses damaged, there's quite a large investigation going on and other businesses are asking for additional protection.
