right, I understand that. Since we can arguably say that Jersey City is part of the same wider metropolitan area, I was wondering if Jersey City has adopted any similar pro-tenant policies.

Prior permission is okay, but in NYC, landlords have to particularly say explicit circumstances to say no to subletting.

I never understood Haus25. It is so much more expensive than comparable apartments downtown (yes, even those with pools and gyms etc.). It doesn't make any sense.

Even at the peak of the market this would be considered a terrible deal. With the current layoffs in the tech industry, the offer seems especially ridiculous.
