My only correction to this is that you can get apple care after the first 60 days if you bring the phone into an Apple Store and they inspect it to make sure it’s not damaged but it does have to be within the first year before the limited warranty expires (but I also don’t know why you would plan to do this if you know you want apple care from the purchase date because the plan starts from date of device purchase not date of apple care purchase so you’re basically paying for a year of coverage you didn’t get to use)

Yes, I realize that cell phones offer functionality that laptops and desktops and land lines do not offer -- but after working IT for years, when I left that position, I turned in the pager and cell phone that I had been tied to for years. I also took off my watch and hardly ever wear it.

If you can hear the song, "I want to be free..." that's me singing, in the background. I was tied to both a pager AND cell phone and watch (get to those IT meetings on time)... I no longer want to be tied down to anything except my cat.

A lil’ update guys. After some time I noticed in the carrier settings that said: “phone is not allowed”. I started to wonder what tf happened. It turns out that my carrier banned my imei from using any network, coz I still could call emergency services, but not anyone else. I bought my iPhone exactly one year ago from a guy that got it from his carrier with a data plan and he stopped paying for it. Luckily I had all of his contact info (including id) and phoned him. He apologized and paid up and I’m waiting for my carrier to unblock my phone. Funny story.
