I’ll try to test my Sot with minimal gameplay and I will reply to this comment

Give it some time. You’re coming from the X, so you just need time to adjust. It’s not actually such a big difference in absolute terms.

I agree! It is a feature to make the user interface simpler and easier to access without actually switching to the app. By that logic a tap should do just that i.e. expand the Dynamic Island and allow the user to control the music or whatever without switching to the app (somewhat of a multitask or apple's version of it). A long-press or a double tap (or maybe another tap after the DI expands) should take you to the app which it does, as that is when I would like to get more options not present on the DI.
For example, you are driving somewhere with music on Spotify and using maps for navigation. The DI is looking all nice and pretty with its colored waveform but you quickly wanna skip the next track in the playlist. What would be the easiest way to do that?
A. You tap on the Dynamic Island, it expands giving you the controls, you skip the song and job done.
B. You try to touch and hold the Dynamic Island for which you have to hold your breath and keep your finger on the same spot which is a challenge and if there is a slight bump on the road, your finger moves on the screen and then you have to repeat the process again which is a pain!!
For me, the tap to expand and long-press (or even double tap) to take you to the app would make much more sense. I do know that apple fangirls would say that it is consistent with the rest of iOS or to treat it like a notification panel or whatever, but I really don't care about that if it makes things more difficult.

Facebook used to do the same for me, force light mode until an update fixed it.
I don’t play games on my iPhone so I’m not too familiar but I used to play COD mobile on my Rog Phone 2 and 4hrs SOT is pretty good. COD mobile is a intense graphical game, I’m not too sure with clash but maybe someone who also plays clash can chime in.
What’s your battery life without playing games? Can you test a day without using your phone and maybe use a tablet instead?

It’s the peak brightness. I changed to the 14PM too from an XS and the auto brightness on the 14PM is pretty aggressive. It’s usually higher than I need it to be. Just make sure the brightness is lower so your more comfortable

I’ve tried the google pixels a lot at stores and elsewhere and I’m telling you the software just isn’t as smooth and refined as IOS. The navigation between apps isn’t buttery like on iOS and pixels tend to have some bugs too

Just restart the phone. When I first got the 14PM two days ago the 120 hz was having a lot of frame drops and stuff. I restarted it and it fixed itself

Don’t do it, the camera on the max, the dynamic island, the 120hz it’s all really solid once you get used to it. The 14 plus is an outdated phone hardware wise. I too found the pro max way too heavy at first but you get used to it quickly

Could also do like Shortcuts automation, automatically turns off when battery % hits at certain number you like, i would choose 80%.

Thanks for your view. Just wanted to add, that if you choose to upload your photos in a slightly reduced quality (not noticeable at all) it still is unlimited for us. We use the Pixel 5 and 6. I don't know if it's any different here in Germany than in other regions.

I don’t have a sunrise/sunset schedule. It’s drops frames after like 1 game I have to restart the phone for the issue to go away. I once got a 4h sot with 90 percent battery.

I was in the same boat as you. Have been an Android user for almost 10 years, exclusively on the Nexus and Pixel lines, and part time iPhone user because of work. Got Google Homes and Chromecasts all over the place, and most of my smarthome stuff is Google/Nest. Decided to pick up a 14 Pro this past September since I use a MacBook and iPad, and the rest of my family was Apple.
All the Google hardware and services still work, and there are iOS versions of pretty much all the Google apps. I still use Google Photos, although it does suck that I no longer have backups that don’t count towards the storage. iOS has improved enough that it no longer frustrates me to no end, although notifications are still a bit of a mess. The few downsides an iPhone has is more than offset with how well everything integrates if you use other Apple hardware.

it’s too suspicious to be that coincidental. How long did the thieves plan this out to do all the things exactly the way it’s supposed to be.

I only know how to do it in old.reddit on desktop. In the sidebar you should see your username and underneath it there’s an “edit” link. Click it and a list of flairs will pop up. Select the flair that marches your phone and then click the “save” button.

I think the 14 pro would be the right choice if you liked the X. Plus/max will be too big

I’m hoping it gets better. I switched to 14 PM this year and the #1 thing i miss is Android’s vastly superior notification system. I was hoping the island would help somewhat. And it has a little. I wish music/podcasts would be persistent in the island when paused but they go away when you pause in the app and swipe away. I definitely see the potential here though.

I went from a normal iPhone 13 to the 14 Pro Max and the first thing out of the box I noticed the weight but not in a bad way. I think it feels solid. There would be no way I’d swap it though. I’m a Pro Max convert for sure. Stupid question maybe but why is it so heavy? Is it so Apple can price it per how many grams it weighs 😂. No seriously anyone know why?
