I would personally recommend the 14 Pro coming from a X. I had the X and then the 11 Pro. Went 12 Mini in 2020 because the increase from 5.7 on the X/11 Pro to 6.1 just seemed a bit too large to me. Having just upgraded to the 14 Pro, it’s closest in size/usability to the X that I think we are ever going to get. The Pro Max/Plus models are non starters for me.

Basically every other weather service (including Apple's own app) is almost useless in Australia. I just use the BOM app, it has push notification warnings built in and live weather observations that are updated every 10 minutes, sure the UI isn't as nice as some of the others but at least you're getting the right info.

By far the worst is Google, who will literally send me alerts saying "rainfall expected at x time" when in reality it's a clear sunny day with no clouds in sight.

Are you talking about zoom levels ? I’m not sure I understand, are you asking if you can switch it in the middle of a video ? If so yes you can.

That’s understandable. If I was in OPs shoes I’d go to another store and ask them to put another battery on the phone, just to see if the thing even works.

Same issue here. I ended up finding a Spigen vent mount with an arm (Amazon) so that I can move the phone out of the way of the heat.

You’re quite likely correct. But if it were my phone, I wouldn’t risk my data being compromised.

No one buying the phone on eBay is interested in the data inside, and no one would think to start guessing passwords.

People on eBay are fixing them and selling them on for the £50 they can make on it, and that’s it.

Also maybe turn off the 120hz and promotion display. Maybe your eyes aren’t used to that faster refresh rate.

Maybe try turning both off. And dimming the screen. Just to see.

Get the Spigen 14pro glass. Easy install and fits perfectly

It's not worth it all the features of the pro make it the better choice and you should get used to the weight after a while
