- there are no non-apple services allowed in the background.
For instance, if you want to use any other tool (like NextCloud) to sync your data, you need to run the app in the front
- out of the box automation rocks… It is similar to tasker, but it has most features built-in. Steep learning curve, tho.

Ordered a 14 Pro yesterday for the same reason. I am currently on a 12 Pro Max and while it’s an amazing phone, the size is tiring. Wanted to give the big one a try, but it turned out to be too much :/

They went with the same logic they have in control center, for instance if you just press the timer button, it takes you to the app but long pressing gives you an integrated quick timer selection.
I thought the same as you when it was presented and I understand what you mean. But now that I have it, I find myself wanting to go to the actual app more often than just wanting to peek into the shorthand version. For instance, when using the new Apollo live activity, when I interact with the island, I want to go to the thread in-app not just peek into it.

If you treat the dynamic island like a notification banner, its function makes sense. If you tap a notification, it takes you to the app. If you hold on a notification, you get a context menu. Same setup for the dynamic island

I've seen a number of reviewers state the same; they feel the tap functions are opposite what they should be. I'm good either way, but you're not alone in thinking this.

Not sure what you’re referring to with “buying power” but that age group would be the parents of those teens. So even if they are paying they would be buying the devices the teens wanted.

But how? My toilet has two buttons; small one a big one. Small one flushes only a bit water, big one flushes a lot. By dynamic island logic it should be the other way around then?

They have iCloud for windows to easily transfer photos to your PC if you want to that way.
Android user for 10 years now on iPhone 14 pro max.
iOS often makes stable android feel like a constant beta, iOS most things are baked into the OS so it’s just smooth. All video apps can Picture in Picture (Disney plus, HBO max etc)
I like the share feature on iOS more.
I pay for the Apple News +. Nothing like it on android that I could find. No news paywalls with news I want to read that Google shoves in my face, and all sorts of magazines come with it.
Do yourself a favor and watch all the stupid little iOS trick YouTube videos. No one tells you to hold the spacebar down to move the courser for editing words or to use your finger to slash the numbers in calculator to delete your last action.

Reply to comment by Subieworx in Do you use a case or do you use a skin? And why? by I-AM-Savannah
Didn't mean it to be open ended. I bought my iPhone PM from T-Mobile. Apparently as part of the purchase, or in addition to the purchase, I ended up with a transparent case. I can't get the case on the phone, so I will be heading to a store this afternoon to ask them to put the case on the phone, but I am just wondering if I have ended up with the "right" case, or if there is a case or a skin that I should also look at.

I get that they haven’t found a way to make the Face ID setup smaller. But the least they could have done was move the pill all the way to he top of the display (which would also make the black plastic around the pill smaller at the top) so we don’t have to have videos cut off. Moving it down is just so un-Apple in terms of design quality or thoughtfulness.

iOS 15.1.1 iPhone 12 Pro Max physical dual sim, I can select my line right in the dialer.
I switch between android and iPhone often, multiple times in a year. I'll look through the rest of your post, but also comment here with some of your biggest problems, and i'll try my best to help.

It all depends on the user. Are you prone to being clumsy? It’s all on your preference. I’m sure you have people around you with phones and just hold their phone with and without a case and see what you think.

85 Decibels doesn't seem that loud to me.

May help you to also make a list of thing you like about it. It’s different, but once you get used to using it as it’s designed you’ll probably enjoy it. If not, you still have plenty of options that aren’t iPhones :)
