Honestly they are so close and do literally the exact same things AND most importantly just portals for people to use their favourite apps that it really doesn't matter what either is.
It's just easier to keep using whatever someone's been using for years beforehand

Whatever it will be, it won’t be right now, as long as all the other versions of the device still have the tray.

Mentally, for sure. I’d say iOS is more intuitive. Android is a great OS too, and runs on almost anything.
We’re very lucky to have two really good phone OS products to choose from.
Back in the day it was Nokia, Ericsson or some shitty product from Microsoft.

I just switched from my Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5g to the iPhone 14 Pro Max. Some android features that I miss are.
Notification history An universal back button mine was a swipe up from the bottom bar The ability to get modified apps for Spotify and YouTube.

Reply to “Silence Unknown Callers”? by Kerbboi
I haven’t listened to a voicemail in ten years let alone answered a random number I don’t have any idea who it might be. However, I will answer 99% of calls ID’d calls even if I don’t want to. Both are rude and bad habits in some situations, but i did a lot of dumb stuff growing up and u never know who’s on the other side of the call. Reminds me of an old inside joke “when called by a ‘panther’…don’t anther” (its a crude/inappropriate/highly offensive joke ill spare everyone from)…

The iPhone is always overexposing, it has priority for face and shadows. When making a photo tap on the light object (sky for example), so it will correct the exposure and you can always pull out shadows in post. You can also use profiles (rich contrast) to counter that behavior a little.
Fun fact: it is basically impossible to get an overexposed photo shooting auto on pixel 6 and 7.

Reply to Not comfortable with 14 pro. Advice? by slacprofessor
Wow, how small are your hands? I have small hands, and I don’t notice much difference in size or weight between the 14 pro and my old XS. The most noticeable difference is the larger camera bump.

>People buy them for their performance and longevity.
I doubt it. People buy them because of their reputation and because their friends have them too. Especially in the US.
I bet your typical iPhone used doesn't even know what resolution their display is.

Thank you so much for the advice, but I might get it replaced through Apple or apple certified repair shops. I wouldn’t trust myself and give the risk of damaging my phone. But thank youuuuu.

I really like this phone and it’s like 5 years old and other than battery life, it’s doing fine. I mean if there would be something lacking, it would be issues with storage space but it is not too much of a hassle, I just have to do a deep clean in my phone.

How unlikely is this to happen? I had my iphone stolen and they were able to change my apple id and gmail. Im assuming they changed gmail password by the forgot password option (they will send you an sms) and changed my apple id once they got hold of my gmail.
Now how they got past the face id and 6 digit pin is beyond me since i didnt use my phone during commute

It was. The thing is, the hacker somehow got to my iPhone keychain and modified the login password for the PayPal app. There are definitely some phone related issues here. Took care of the PayPal beach, but still wondering about the ghost in the machine.

My 8 plus is on its third battery. £16 off eBay and a quick YouTube video, what have you got to lose? As long as your on a well lit steady platform and are very careful with the tiny connectors inside it is a simple procedure. You will lose the waterproof seal though, not figured out how to get that back yet. A new battery has prevented me getting a new phone and saving my money for a while now since the 8 plus still works fine and the camera is great

Reply to “Silence Unknown Callers”? by Kerbboi
The numbers that call you that are NOT in your Contact list on your phone go silently to your voicemail. They are not blocked. You are not disturbed.
When they leave a message, you see it and you call them back. It's about the same as if you were on the phone at the time they called and did not want to interrupt the call to answer them. You call them back a few minutes later.
Telemarketers seldom leave a message. If they do, you know what it's about and don't call them back. My VM greeting encourages people to leave a VM if they want me to call them back.
I will turn the feature off occasionally when I know I am expecting a call from someone not in my Contacts, and then switch it back on after they call.

Sounds like a dead motherboard. Hope you get the phone replaced for free at the Apple store. There's been a few posts like this lately. Ans this is probably not the last one. Is Apple using cheaper internals this time around?

I’d be very happy if they put a headphone jack there; but I know that’s never gonna happen.
