even if it was unlocked, they would still need your old password to reset it. Unless you clicked on a malicious link that told you to reset your password and you ended up giving them the old password through that.

My iPhone 14 Pro has been doing this randomly. Usually it’s just for a minute or 2 but today it took a whole hour of resetting it to get it to turn back on. It works for now but I’m afraid of it happening again

Idk why people complain about cellphones being the same. I rely on my phone for work, school, gaming (discord), and socializing with family and connecting with friends.
If I had to learn a new operating system and UI everytime I got a new phone I would be pretty darn upset.

Windows Phone was amazing. Microsoft just couldn’t get out of their own way.

The only thing Apple will do is if you provide a death certificate and legal papers showing you are the heir to the device they will remove activation lock so you can erase the device and use it. However, they won’t be able to get into the device.
Try using forgot password and icloud.com and see if she was using iCloud data storage.

It’s wild… have a 14 Pro Max and it doesn’t feel heavy to me personally. Came from a 12 Pro and I actually wish the size was a bit bigger. But I do get that these are hefty phones for most.

Data recovery on a phone can be difficult because everything is encrypted.

Unfortunately a legacy contact needs to be setup first. It can’t be setup after the fact.

People forget that the meme “Shut up and take my money!” Is referencing an Apple device lol so it doesn’t surprise me Apple is still making profit and people are still willing to drop the cash for their products.

That’s awful to hear. I am so sorry! You should check to see if she setup an Account recovery contact. They would be able to unlock the phone I believe. Here’s the link - https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212513

I could be mistaken, but if you keep a device on iOS 15 I think you would technically retain all versions

Starlight is not a colour for the Pro, only for the standard iPhone 14.

There are eSIM issues on 14 with iOS 16.1? I haven’t experienced any since release.

I am so sorry to hear what happened. Regarding the password though, if apple can’t help, I have not heard of any other avenues to get in. Maybe if you can find her iCloud/Apple account password? But I’d imagine apple is really the only ones who could realistically help… or maybe like a data recovery specialist? Best of luck.

Use a lens protector like spigen optic armor. They don’t affect quality.
