From what I see from other countries they use other messaging platforms like Whatsapp or Telegram to communicate.

Sounds like it needs a carrier services update, or it’s on of the esim issues and you need an actual SIM card. Call your carrier.

Not common on average, otherwise insurance wouldn’t be profitable and therefore wouldn’t exist. I mean it’s game theory, there’s not much to argue about ultimately :)

Coming from Android there’s quite a bit. I own a MacBook, IPad, and IPhone and they all communicate with one another. So I can answer text off my computer or copy and paste an article from my iPad to my phone. And this is without any further support on my end.
While Android, namely Samsung, has greatly improved in software updates Apple is still excellent with rolling out updates consistently. The haptics are also great meaning I can feel the feedback when I’m typing a message or can react to a phone call quicker when my phone is lying on my bed. Also, one last thing the apps tend to be more polished/refined (yes even in 2022). Perfect example is Instagram where my S21 FE was missing information because of its aspect ratio.

Is this their stab at whiteboarding (Miro / Figma)?

Going to the phone keypad and using the numbers/alpha to search the directory-so if I wanted to call Nate I could type 6283 and it would pull up all the Nates in my phone (and also anyone named Mave but whatev)

It’s not available in Canada yet. I’ve never lost a phone before so not sure how common it is.

It’s still going to take a long time for everyone using physical SIMs to move to new phones. Loads of people I know are using 5+ year old phones with no intention of getting a new one until it breaks. There’s still a large market for non-smartphones and other devices like mobile routers, cameras etc. that need a SIM card. These don’t get replaced anywhere near as frequently as smartphones. My last mobile router lasted 5 years and I expect my new one to as well.

How longer battery last than in regular Pro in practice?

The back button was super convenient, I occasionally miss that. Significantly better file management to organize my files. Faster charging speeds are also nice when I’m in a hurry.

Being able to customize my notifications greatly. I don’t want my screen to light up for a majority of things except maybe a call.
Also I like different sounds per app or per person.
I also miss having a true file systems that work like windows.

- Scrolling/long screenshots
- Google Phone app's spam call detection - worked way better than anything I've tried on iOS.
- Customisable notifications (e.g; turning vibrate off for certain WhatsApp/Telegram contacts)

Yes but it’s treated just like as if you roamed on your line. But with my large US carrier, it does work.

You buy peace of mind, which is important as well

Not an android feature I miss but one we had from the Pixels: call screening. Such a brilliant concept.

Nothing. It's worse than lots of other messaging apps.
It's used a lot in the US because people are still using SMS over there, as if we were still in the year 1875. They like sticking to medieval systems and beliefs as much as possible, like the imperial system and strong religious fanatism.
I believe that in every other country, it's not used by that many people.

pay for it if you’re prone to breaking iphones, don’t if you have a great track record.
or do. shit happens. i know it saved me twice with my 13 mini in the past 12 months.

It’s insurance and like all insurance it depends on the user. Obviously you can take out insurance and nothing happens and that’s the most common case, that’s how they make money. If you can afford an iPhone 14 promax, depending on the price of AppleCare where you live it might be silly to not insure something so expensive to replace. But ultimately it’s up to you, how likely is it that you’ll break or lose it ?

I am using a physical sim right now, I actually do not have access to alternate number right now to call but i will in an hour or so hope they pick up considering the wait time on their end.
