So one scenario I can think of is a prepaid android phone and buying prepaid cards to add minutes/data. He could then forward call to or from the Android. If he leaves work with the Android and leaves his iPhone at work then his location would show up at work but he could have calls forwarded to the Android.

There's too many customizable features to say it looks as if it was made by Apple

No ads and a better media viewer

I paid for the app because it's the cheapest, best looking alternative to get rid of ads. Also, I didn't want this new reddit UX, it's absolute shit (old.reddit.com redirect browser extension is second after ublock Origins on any new computer), but sometimes, I need to see the profile bio to get the information I need and Apollo doesn't support that (yet?).
In fact, if I didn't absolutely need the new features on occasion, I wouldn't have even downloaded the app, but people keep messaging me on the chat or the aforementioned profile bio (which, to remind you, are both, effectively, products of the new UX (chat may be a little older)).

If you get the iPhone outside the US (say Canada) you still get the sim tray

I don’t know about that, last time Apple removed something everyone had been using forever, it took about two years for the whole industry to follow

Because of the notifications. Kinda liking the idea of using both apps like that, I will do that haha

No, that wasn't working and the store rep was not able to figure it out, had to call advanced support and as noted, they finally had to give up on eSIM and just give me a new SIM card for my 13 Pro.

Why pay for it though? The free version of Apollo works great. The only thing I'm missing is notifications, but I keep the regular Reddit app installed for those.

You can personalize the layout.
Personally, the only thing the Official Reddit app is good for is Chat or opening reddit links from outside Apollo when I'm way down the queue and don't want to lose my place.
And if Apollo gets chat functionally, the only time I'll be opening the official app is from external apps when this shit site refuses to let me see more comments it in browser

My condolences. This can't be easy.
My first impression after reading this is that he is simply forwarding his iPhone's voice calls to another phone using the iPhone's wireless carrier's method for doing this.

Eh, I spend so much on plane tickets and everything else while traveling, $100 a month of travel isn't bad.

I never bothered with apple care and have never needed it either.

It’s not worth buying an old phone because the new ones don’t have a sim slot. How many times does the average user even switch the SIM cards out of their phone? I have done it once in the last 10 years and am a pretty tech savvy person. I have a 14 pro with esim (because they only have esim) and have no problem with it. I’ve actually been using esim for years as it means the sim can’t be taken out if your phone is stolen.

If you are going to get AppleCare (which I highly suggest), get the theft loss and protection one seeing as its only £50 more and you get top priority and theft is covered.
