You're making me feel even more guilty ;) I too ride a motorcycle, and a bicycle. There are some places here in Bathurst where I just hope and pray the drivers are fully concentrating on their driving.
I think you've convinced me to put my phone also in my pocket when driving.

I had a IP X —> IP 12 Mini —> IP 13 Pro, and now I’m here to stay with my IP 13 Mini.

Unfortunately that’s just what happens after a while of owning the same device. We got spoiled when smart phones first came out with the new major upgrades every year or every other year and it made sense to upgrade that often.
I held on my to my xs max for 4 years and that was the longest I’ve had a phone for without upgrading. It definitely got boring but still worked till the speakers gave out.

Probably depends on the usability of the phone you have now. Yes, the 15 will have some upgrades compared to the 14, but a bigger jump wild probably be from whatever phone you have now to the 14. If you were already thinking about upgrading, why wait another year?

So Typically that means...
Do you still have a good battery life? Does the phone still function for you day to day needs? If you answered yes, then i would just keep the phone you have. If you answered no, then i would get a new phone.

Like if your phone is falling apart then don’t wait. If you’re able to wait though, you can either save money or get a newer, better product. The more you wait between models, the more exciting new features there are.

I don't know. How often do you need to make an emergency call via Satellite to have emergency services rescue you from the wilderness? For most people the answer is also "almost never". But it's clearly big enough of a deal for Apple to flex it in every iPhone 14 ad. Same thing applies here. Even if you probably won't need to use it any time soon, it's good to have the feature there. Why remove it?
$165 is still pretty steep for a spare phone.
If it's just something to keep in the glove box in case of an emergency, I'm not going to invest $165 into it. An iPhone 6 (usually around $50-60 in used condition) would do the trick.

I would wait. I just got the 14 pro max and honestly If i wasn't so stubborn, i would've just stayed with my 13. Not much of a difference. Now if you need a new phone, DO IT. if not then i would just hold out.

What do you mean by "need"? I mean,it's not like it's gonna die in the next 10 months (the phone) it's just that like,I want new phone because my phone is becoming boring

Unless you exclusively want a brand new ip; you could opt for a preloved 13pm i

If you need a new phone right now, don’t wait. Otherwise, next year you’ll get a better phone for (hopefully) the same price or get the same phone on sale now for cheaper.

I just have the plain iPhone 11. So it’s a big change to the 14 pro max

two points.
How often do you actually break your iPhone that you can’t retrieve data from it? I know it’s a valid reason, but me personally since 2010 I never had that issue
second point. the iPhone SE 2020 64gb is the cheapest iPhone that supports esim which you can buy as a backup. on swappa, those are going for $165 on average. No need for a $1000 spare iPhone.

Create shortcuts for each one then put those on the main screen. That's what I've done.
- Go to "Shortcuts"
- Click the "+" in the upper right hand corner
- Tap "Add Action"
- Tap on the "+" next to "Call"
- Tap on "Contact" and select the contact
- Tap on the drop down next to "Call" at the top of the screen
- Tap on "Rename" and give it a name
- Tap on "Done"
- On your Home Screen, tap and hold a blank area
- Tap on "+" at the upper left hand corner
- Scroll to "Shortcuts" and tap
- Select the format you want and tap "Add Widget"
- Tap on the Widget then tap
- Next to "Folder" tap on "All Shortcuts"
- Select "Contacts"
This SHOULD do it for you if I didn't miss a step (entirely possible).

“My phone is becoming boring”? That’s first world problem. Definitely I would wait and I would try find something to do that full fill my joy in a more healthy way. Some sport, walking. A new phone happiness last days. I few weeks with luck.
