iPhone SE (2016) -> 8 plus -> 13 mini. The weight and size is great for me. I hated wearing shorts and feeling like I had a brick in my pocket and harder to get out when I need it. To me the smaller design with comparable parts to the 12 pro- it was a good buy. I’ll cross my fingers for small phone promotion and that would probably get me to upgrade. My only gripe is the mic placement on the bottom of the screen, sometimes I’ll cover it with my pinky accidentally and the person I’m FaceTiming won’t hear me

Through my carrier , it’s actually cheaper to buy the 14 with a trade in.

Funny, I was thinking the added weight of the regular phone people are mentioning would be a good motivator for me to not be on it all the time. But good point for the smaller screen as well.

I got my 14 Pro from a T-Mobile store last weekend. The rep had no problem transferring my number to the eSim card.

Yeah I got the pro max. I needed the bigger screen to surf the web while hiding in the bathroom at work.
I have had no problems with e sim at all. It did take a day after switching phone number from Verizon for messages and stuff to totally work.
Phone has been flawless since.

Went from an 8plus to the mini. The actual screen size is almost the same and the mini is way lighter. No regrets.

No issues here. Used a 13 Pro with T-Mobile on e-sim for an entire year without a problem and then migrated to a 14 Pro Max still working flawlessly.

I’m thinking it’s because you read about people bitching about it online and have placebo’d it into your own perception.

The esim exclusive iPhone 14 series are only the ones being sold in the USA and a I think Canada.
In any other part of the world they have a physical sim slot and 1 esim.
You can either buy a 14 series iPhone in another country since you travel a lot or get a 13 series iPhone in the US if you live there. (Sure, apple doesn’t sell the 13 series, but you can find them in any other store like Best Buy).

There are many phone manufacturers that still support SIM cards and even have duel sim support. No reason to lock yourself into apple.

This is very good to know. I was about to ask if there are any banger 13 sales going on and if thats the play rather than the latest and greatest 14

I just turned off raise to wake and you can still unlock the phone when the AOD is on by looking at it and swiping up on the home bar

Software issues are overblown and by no means a good reason not to get the 14 models. But if you want to save a few dollars and don’t care about the hardware features nothing wrong with 13 Pro they are very close performance wise.

It’s awesome! I didn’t realize how ginormous the big phones were getting until I went from XR to 13mini. I hope they rethink the small display in a new phone. It’s slightly smaller than an iPhone 6.

I went from the xr to the 12 mini and will never go back to a big screen. I don’t watch much on my phone, I mainly use it for music and podcasts rather than tv so that may be a reason I’m happy with the smaller screen. I like being able to hold the phone in one hand and text and it fits in my pocket much easier than my xr.

For the camera lens and around it (where dust and dirt likes to settle), I use a clean a-tip. Works wonders.

No problems here 14 Pro. If you have a traditional T-Mobile account with Alison restrictions should be able to transfer the Sim from the old phone to your new phone without a problem.

Xr to 13 Mini, wow, life changing!
My GF has a 11 and every time I pick it up, I find it heavy and just too big
knuckle_cracker t1_iu0z411 wrote
I use scotch tape (or packing tape). Not intrusive and picks up all the dust and debris. I kind of kink it in there with my fingernail, ensuring I don’t push too hard or damage anything. I don’t like using a brush or air or anything like that since it’s pushing all of the gunk back into the device.
