If you have a QR code on your phone in a picture, the phone is smart enough to recognize the QR and read it out of the photo. You don't need to take a picture of the QR code printed out or on another device.
Also, you should be adding the eSIM for your destination before you travel so you just have to toggle it on when you land.
TL;DR: You're doing it wrong.

For US carriers, yes. Typically they'll let you roam with extremely throttled speeds (like 128kbps or 256kbps), and you can pay something like $10/day for high speed data (Verizon will be 500MB for that). T-Mobile gives you 5GB of high speed data roaming all over the world on their most expensive plan, which not everyone is willing to pay for.

Bad wiring probably. I had to resort to a 3 pin charger with earthing to fix this.

iPhone 12 mini here, considering the 13 mini because 14 they went basic with the large again.
Mini is the real secret, same processing power..
Plus you have a tablet/pc for the screen

It has actually never happened to me in over 5 years with iPhones. I have no idea how people encounter this so often.

Not yet, they'll do something with the space after they continue to force the issue and remove physical sims from all iPhones.

absolutely. i came from an 11 and recently got a 13 mini. i love that the mini is easily pocketable (sometimes i forget it’s there) and usable with one hand. it also doesn’t hurt my hand like my 11 used to because it was too wide and heavy for me. i also feel safer now using my phone outside because the mini actually fits in my hand, unlike the 11 which was always just on my hand but never in it, if that makes sense
screen is a little too small for me sometimes, especially when watching videos, but it’s fine in a pinch + i have an iPad and laptop anyway
will hold on to my mini for as long as i can!

Could be the camera module making it slightly more top heavy or it’s all in your head lol.

Yes. Different color. This is the new black (whatever they call it ) and my 13 was the blue. But weighed them and they are the same weight. I’m thinking it’s the balance of the weight with the new camera module but honestly don’t know

Yep and just weighed them both on my kitchen scale and they are a gram apart.
I’m thinking that maybe it has something to do with the weight of the new camera module and this the way it feels in my hands.

I have the 13 Pro Max, and I usually by a local sim when traveling. This is going to be a factor to me, and I don't always have the option to plan ahead. I was in Thailand recently a fellow traveler invited me to join him to see Ankor Wat so was spontaneously in Cambodia. a Physical sim was $4 for unlimited high-speed data, I have no idea if esim was an option then or if not when it will be. I would hate to be restricted to that across the whole world. When I upgrade to the 15, I will have to see what my options are and maybe get a European or Asian Iphone.

I know. Just weighed them both on a kitchen scale to confirm. Perhaps it’s the balance of it with the new camera module?

The move to iOS app doesn't always work as intended. The only thing important for me is to retain all the chats.
Kindnexx t1_iu0lnmd wrote
According to Meta you can transfer everything but call history and display name using the move to iOS app. Don’t know how important those are to you.

Just like Shrek, I have sausage fingers. An iPhone Mini is smaller than the palm of my hand. I don’t really have a choice here.

Same here, just got the 14pro max. I had the 11. It’s a huge step up. I’ve always wanted a small phone tho, they seem really nice
