You mishandled this. I find it hard to believe the phone didn't receive any incoming calls, but you also could have just used Siri to "call mom."
You could have checked the screen under a bright light for smudge patterns and possibly unlock it.
You could have handed it in to the local police station. A police station is probably 300 billion times easier for the owner to track down than some random person.
You could have done any number of things that would have been better than stashing it away at your private residence.
You basically stole a phone. I think you figured out you weren't gonna be able to unlock it and use it for yourself, so nowww you're trying to "do the right thing."
Try being nice? I have nothing nice to say. You made a public post. These are my thoughts.

Can’t argue with that. I heard that there is a phone that charges with a 240w brick. I believe that it was by Realme.

True, but I only charge it when I sleep anyhow. Charging with a 20w brick feels super fast either way, at least compared to my last iPhone Xr

The only downside is that it’s not nearly as efficient as wired charging.

Apple is still releasing security patches for iOS 15.

Go to your cart, invert the phone (port towards the sky), put in phone holder by vent so air blows right on it, turn on heat and air conditioning full blast, recirculation setting.
Heat will move moisture into the air, a/c will take that moisture and remove it (dryer air will make it easier for moisture to evaporate from the image of the port.)

I would strongly suggest taking it to a reputable repair shop. Probably an issue with the charging port, hopefully nothing else has liquid damage.

It could be the charger itself or if you used your phone in somewhere humid

This might be an odd question, do you have your phone plugged into Android Auto/Apple Car play in your car regularly? I had a Bolt EV 2021 that I suspected caused this situation with my phone when plugged into the usb ports. I had a cellphone repair shop repair the phone, which tested fine while I was in the store, I brought it out to my car, plugged it in to the car and got the warning on my S20 yet again.

I had this issue, ended up being fluff. Use your sim tray tool to scoop out the fluff from the charging port

I never felt my phone has ever been less protected with a clear case, but yellowing has always been an annoying issue…

Mine did this after a rainy humid day. All cords have the same notifier. Left it alone overnight and tried again in the morning and it was fine. All my cords worked and notice was gone.

Well one this is for sure if ur using it with out a case u want to feel ans experience the exquisite feel, and with that comes a little extra effort in maintaining it, I personally like my product RED case less but ya at the end of the day i give it a little wipe and keep it up for charge, that mostly does with the pints and other stuff on it, And ya I always carry a wipe wit me just in case if something fell or it got dirty, just a little effort and it’s flawless whole day

You’ve done your best. It may be time to test its drop resistance 🫣
