Hello all, I requested 3 trade-in kits this past Saturday.

I understand that Apple (or a 3rd party if there is a 3rd party) probably operates on business days, but I have received 0 updates.

Has anyone had experience in receiving Apple Trade-In kits and if so, how long did it take?

Thank you all. I appreciate your time and help.

Apple is looking to frak its customers....not EU!Its a way to blackmail customers into buying Apple products...not have EU change the regulation.
The same company that removed chargers for reducing their enviromental footprint ....but kept the same price!
Lets support Apple in bending the rules!

Not quite. The EU mandate doesn’t kick in until December 28th 2024 and only applies to newly certified devices after that date.

Assuming the usual release dates, Apple could, if they really wanted, stick with lightning on the iPhone 15 and 16.

My bet is USB-C on the iPhone 15 Pro models only and the non-pro models get USB-C the year after.

Right but what difference will it make for average consumers?

For an example: Say IPhone 15 comes with USB-C and ‘Bob’ plugs his cable into the USB port. What difference will ‘Bob’ notice when plugging it vs the lighting port?

Actually, the Thunderbolt 4 trademark on a cable IS a guarantee of quality, data rate, and power transmission! Intel tests and certifies the cable meets design requirements, and then they audit these cables in the field to make sure they continue to do so through the production run. As far as Speed goes: all TB4 cables are 40 Gbps. For power, all TB4 cables are 100W (5A) capable.

Note: at some point soon, all TB4 cables will be 240 W capable, I just don’t know when this will occur… it is a newer Type-C spec.
