Spam texts you can just ignore. Getting a new number isn't guaranteed to reduce the spam, but it's an option.

If your number was taken over, that's a bigger problem. Any other account that's attached to that phone number can be compromised. If that's possible, you're at a point where you need to notify the credit bureaus, your bank, etc.

USB-C now required in Europe but not everywhere else. No idea how Apple do the new iPhone until announced by Apple in September.

very likely yes. but very likely also you will need mfi certified usb c cables or else it will restrict data speeds and probably charging speeds too knowing apple lmfao.
