What I cant deal with is that the photos are extremely dark contrast. I always have to lower the contrast a bit. On any photo I want to actually look the same as real life.

Bottom line - the phone fails to show what is seen with the naked eye.

Oh yeah me neither, I'm too much of a slave to my phone. Most of my work is done from it (and not in an influencer or whatnot kind of way xD). Exactly! I don't have the time nor the nerves to go over all that every single time :D

Yeah, I have the same experience with my 13 Pro. I really wish there were an option to almost roll back the processing on pictures to just have a more normal photography experience. I know the photographic styles and shooting in raw can both help, but it still isn't a complete or easy solution.

Oh defo we‘ve come a long long way. I remember the good old Nokia times, indestructible and cheap, but oh well, i‘d never go back to be honest. Yeah i was a tinkerer myself, like custom roms when the OEM didn’t update anymore and stuff, but now with the iPhone it just works, and the updates just keep coming until you‘ll upgrade either way.

I agree. It was quite a switch (in a good way). Everything just works, I always liked to modify things on the phone. However, now I just like for a phone to work, which honestly iPhone is the only one to do that.

I was on Android pretty much from the beginning (my first android phone was probably around 2.2 also), before that I've had two or three touch phones (Nokia with symbian OS and LG Cookie, that had some kind of an OS as well) and way before that my first was a small Sony Ericsson. A long way we've come in the last 20-30 years.

The line with the bolt represents the time the phone was on the charger. The phones try to extend their battery life by not overcharging. Overcharging makes batteries degrade faster. This is also why phones have the option to only charge up to about 80% during times you’re less likely to need it. For example, if you normally get up at 8 AM the phone will wait till about 6 or so to charge past 80%. This is because it takes more energy to bring the phone up to 100% during those last 20%.

If the phone is at 100%, then it no longer needs to charge the battery and can simply use the electricity from the charger to do its functions.

I feel the same way, it’s especially irritating how they look perfect for the first 0.5 seconds. It’s not even just photos, if I record a video on the front facing camera I end up looking like I’ve applied a heavy Instagram filter. I don’t have perfect skin but I don’t want to hide it.

But on the plus side, it’s a software issue so they can fix it. No way is Apple not aware of this so I hope they’re working on a fix. I really don’t want to go through the hassle of changing my phone. No way am I swapping iPhone for a Pixel or whatever, I even preferred the results on my iPhone X.

Not a problem at all. Have been a Long time Android user (like 2.2 Gingerbread Times) up 'til the release of the iPhone 12 series, that’s when i bought my first iPhone, a used Xr, now i‘m using a 14 (no, not Pro) and love it. Never going back to android. Also it’s a slight learning curve when switching from Android, especially that literally everything is seamless, something i was not used to from android.
