It’s fun to have but I don’t really think about actively using it as much. If anything the Face ID animation is pretty ugly to me, but I’ve gotten used to it. The camera and pro-motion are a big deal breaker for me though. Also any bigger than the regular pro is too big for me personally.

They’re good at convenience. Sound quality is passable. The main selling point of AirPods is their convenience, not their sound, quality, or microphone. As earbuds, they are always going to be compromised in these areas. Nothing will beat a good set of over ear headphones or a good headset. I’ve used AirPods. They’re convenient but they pale in comparison to my headphones. I use a set of Sony WH1000-XM4’s for my headphones of choice. They’re some of the best wireless headphones on the market, all things considered. If you go wired things can get better both on the cheaper end and the more expensive end.

Headphone recommendations:

  • Sony WH1000-XM4
  • Skullcandy Crusher
  • Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro

Others can chime in with more but that’s off the top of my head.

currently have an iphone 12, looking to upgrade soon due to a lot of upcoming travel for concerts, seeing friends, etc. over the spring and summer and i want a slightly better phone/camera...and i hate how small the 12 is since i had an xr before it, so size is also why i'm looking to upgrade.

i don't take concert photography seriously, just want good photos/videos to look back on. it's not like my friends and i take high fashion photoshoots when we're out or things like that.

should i go iphone 14 plus? or do i bite the bullet and go pro max? i've been pretty happy with the 12 but i'm not sure if i'm making a parallel move camera wise if i go 12 > 14 plus.

I know I'm jumping into this mid-stream. I have an 8 Plus and will probably go 15 (Plus?) as my next phone. I'm guessing that Dynamic Island, whatever it is, isn't on my phone so it won't something I'll "miss". Happy with the phone as it is, I'm still a home button user.
