Fall of 2021? I’m surprised the phone hasn’t already been stripped for parts.
It’s possible the person that has your phone is telling the truth. It’s also possible that they’re the one that stole your phone or know the person that did. Regardless, don’t send them your Apple ID password under any circumstances and don’t send them money hoping they’ll ship you the phone.
Like mentioned earlier, ask them to ship you the phone for free so you can get your photos and remove the activation lock/factory reset it. I doubt they will but if they do send it for free they’re more than likely telling you the truth. After that it’s up to you if you want to send your phone back to them. At the end of the day it is your phone despite the other persons circumstance.

Ok. I just find it rude how people don’t like the fact that I don’t like the 11. It’s gets you by but there’s a lot of things that could be improved

It probably is a dummy button

You’re going to get trashed and downvoted (seems you already have) here also.
Apple is a trillion dollar company and if you’re not shilling for them then you’re the bad guy.
Apple doesn’t need aggressive PR because they have more aggressive fanboys.

Oh wow I didn’t think about that. Thanks for letting me know and I’m sorry I was wrong.

Ahh I see. Yes that wouldn’t work. Maybe try and get in touch with apple, there might be a way to resolve this

Oh true. I meant up until I cracked it, there was no cracks etc but it was still malfunctioning and all sorts. At that point it was my last straw. & I haven’t trashed my phone at all. I did treasure it but it’s honestly gone bad now. Like I said it’s the whole marketing strategy, they make them slow over the years & there’s nothing I can do about t
Idk why I’m getting downvoted for stating the obvious-

Alright here’s my question. How does it know when clean energy is being used? It’s not like the outlet tells the phone what source the power is coming from…

Im afraid it’s a WhatsApp issue, try dragging the cropped picture into a note, or a iMessage, if it works, then the problem is WhatsApp

That makes sense as I have an iPhone 13 Pro outside the states.

In the US for me it is a thing, however for newer model iPhones iOS 10 or newer.
Older phones even with the latest update (16.3.1) don’t seem to have it.

Also a lot of this functionality is built into android by default, I can make custom shortcut icon to do tasks, my galaxy watch starts workouts automatically, and apps like tasker can automate everything. So I really can't see this as a ios only must have feature

I recently bought a phone and service bundle from Mint for a secondary personal line. Got 6 months free with it too so not a bad deal. Still deciding if I’ll actually renew it after the first year.

iPhone 6 or SE. Under $50 for either which leaves a bit of money for a fresh battery.
Edit: more importantly unlike the 5S they both offer VoLTE which is an absolute must for use in the US.
