This notification appears to me as well. I use an iPod touch at work, connected to a stereo via a jack cable, and the volume is at max. I tried to get rid of this, but apparently there no way… infact, in a specific section (should be under Health) it literally says that in some countries this notification is mandatory…

Shortcuts is a stock app that allows you string together actions to do any task you need to do. They’re called “shortcuts”. Then, you can call these shortcuts from anywhere - Siri, the lock screen, the Home Screen, a back tap on the phone… What is really nice is that many apps add their own actions to Shortcuts, so you can have access to their resources or control them in anyway you need do.

An example: I made a shortcut called It’s time to run”. Whenever I step outside, and I’m ready to jog, all I’ve got to do is say, “it’s time for a run” (while holding the power button) and my iPhone will immediately

  • start a workout on my watch

  • choose a random address from my “running locations” notes and give the directions to run there

  • Start tracking “Running” to time tracking app, Toggl (I like to track how I spend my time)

  • Set the volume to 0

  • Shuffle my running playlist and play it

  • Slowly automatically crank up the volume as I get running

Then, when I come back home, my iPhone automatically runs a location based shortcut to stop my time tracking and log that I ran that day with my habit tracking app.

It’s easy to link all these half a dozen apps together with one tap of the finger or spoken word.

If you want to do more complicated things, you can, too. A few months ago, I saw someone make a shortcut that they could activate while in Photos to quickly send the photo they were looking at to an external AI so it’ll tell them what car model they were looking at. I’ve seen shortcuts to download YouTube videos right in Safari, some to schedule WhatsApp or iMessage messages. It’s limitless (and you can share shortcuts too).

No coding is required. All you need to do is drag a few actions and link them together. It’s like playing with virtual Legos.

There is also Shortcuts for macOS and iPadOS, watchOS, and all the shortcuts you create on one device are generally usable on other devices.

There’s doesn’t exist a mechanism in Android that comes close to Shortcuts.

One guy driving back to McDonalds cuz they forget their fries would basically emit all of the CO2 saved by this initiative. If not more. iPhones literally require 1 kwh to be recharged fully everyday for a whole year.

The electricity carries that information within it.

Crazy right?

Basically, when you generate electricity thru solar or wind, the electricity carries some extra pizazz with it.

On the phone, “Open appname” when I’m going into a membership store while wearing gloves; starting timers (on watch as well), making phone calls (either in Contacts or by number). I’ll also use it to open apps if they’re buried in folders and/or on other home screens.

Does it really make that difference? iPhone uses about 1 kwh to power up for a whole year. To put that into perspective, that’s the amount of electricity you’d need to power ten 100-watt incandescent lightbulbs for an hour.

This is purely a PR move. Might as well have made it a dummy button and no one would’ve batted an eye.

Edit: power up 1 year = fully drain the battery and re-charge it everyday.

I have bought quite a few different brands of headphones over the years. Two years ago when I upgraded to iPhone I was in need of wireless headphones so I gave the Air Pods Pro a shot. Well, let me just say they absolutely amazed me with how well they worked. The sound is very decent, the fitment is astounding, the noise canceling is world class. And I am talking about the first Gen devices. I haven’t got to experience the second Gen.

I also wondered about that. Eventually I use one daily, whenever I put my iPhone on a charge (I use MagSafe on a stand), it turns on a clock app. So it displays the time, date and battery percentage, it also dims the screen to 10% or so. It became a nice bedside clock. Also have a shortcut to put the rightness back up when I take it off the charge.
