Reply to getting a 14 plus, is dynamic island really a big deal that I'll miss? I mean all it has to offer can be done easily otherwise too by Crystalagent47
I expected the Dynamic Island to be my favorite feature and generally it was the thing I was most excited about. My favorite part about it is when Maps navigation shows details like ".2 miles turn left". Other than that I forget it's there these days. Also, Apple has seemingly made ZERO effort to improve or expand upon it's functionality, 5 months in. I feel like there's a chance that the Dynamic Island will even just fade into obscurity soon.
The feature I expected would give me no use and the one I was least excited about turned out to be my favorite: All Hail The Always On Display 🙂 It might seem trivial or obvious, but this feature changed a lot about my relationship with my phone.
Hard to explain, and everyone has different use cases, but for me, always on display along with pro-motion are what make this phone feel different than my last phone.

Sure it’s. I play the speakers in my house. Or on a friend house if that is okay with them. ✌️😤

But my phone isn’t charging quick even though I’m usually by a charger

Annoying if you live in an apartment complex and blast music or whatever podcast on that loud a volume. If it's out in a park it's also annoying. 😡

I’m a little slow, but how does this actually work? Like when I plug it in an outlet, how does it know when solar or wind energy is being used or available? Modern technology blows my mind man.

BP did dump oil to the Gulf of Mexico. Green energy sources have to do nothing with it. You jumped from contamination to power grid taln when nobody was talking about that.

Reply to comment by Clomer in Can I charge my iphone with a samsung charger with no damage to the battery? by stnlq
You would be wrong. Maybe a decade ago prior to fast charging technologies, but nowadays there are many different implementations of fast charging. Samsung uses a proprietary tech, apple uses the standard tech called USB Power Delivery.
Chargers will all still work with any phone though at the usb standard of 5 volts.

It's based off your personal usage according to Apple.

An iPhone charging feature that 90% of people don’t even know exists, is not going to raise awareness of anything.

For a company as large as Apple, this would make a measurable difference. Of course, it’s not going to solve climate change or whatever.

So dumb especially since there's other things Apple could that could help the environment like switch over to USB-C.

I was an Android evangelist for say, 12 years. Like, a really really proud fan.
Then, while I was developing an app for the Google Voice Assistant, Google suddenly released an update that essentially sabotaged the entire API, making my project and so many others infeasible. It was really frustrating. So, I got an iPhone.
I first had similar complaints - I disliked how you couldn't swipe back from either side, and I disliked not having an SD card. But now I am SO glad I did. It's been such a joy - the iPhone has literally changed my relationship with my computing devices.
You can see every Apple app was carefully designed with human beings in mind. For example, I'm always making stupid early turns with Google Maps. With Apple Maps, it tells you "pass this light, and then turn right at the next light". Crystal-clear. On Photos, I can just tap the phone number on a picture of a business card and call them straight away. I could talk endlessly too about Universal Clipboard, AirDrop, the unified Call Log, and the much much longer battery life.
But the real reason I know I can never go back to Android is because of Shortcuts. Shortcuts allows you to do anything you could possibly imagine with a phone, with a simple tap. I use Shortcuts to clean out my many search engine tabs in Safari, to quickly voice record my thoughts (with date, location and time), to track my time with friends, to have my phone give a funny retort whenever I put it on charge when it's too low... At one point, I literally had my iPhone give guidance when it realized I was spending too much time on YouTube or Video games for the day (by connecting to APIs).
It's changed my life for the better, tbh. There are a few things that Androids win at for sure, but I really think you'll like the iPhone the more you use it.

Reply to Hey! I recently got an iPhone 13 and was clicking some pictures from it.What I found was that on zooming in to a picture, it starts to become very blurry. Check attached image. The leaves are barely separated from each other. My realme 6 took pictures with all leaves differentiable. What's wrong? by Exotic-Ask7768
The camera on iPhones especially the non pro versions relies on some excellent processing, but it's relatively smaller sensor and lack of true optical zoom means it's zoom performance is always a bit hit or miss, especially in poor light or challenging lighting.
And the current software algorithm is also being a bit odd in places which is not helping

Reply to comment by Professional-Ad-9071 in Are AirPods really the best earbuds or are they just marketed well? by Hessian-Ghost
I have AirPods and Powerbeats Pro and use them for different purposes. AirPods for general listening to music, podcasts, and zoom meetings. Powerbeats Pro used for walking, working in the yard, etc.
I love them both. I also have used other brands like Bose and Sony in the past and they are good too...but since I'm an Apple user the AirPods and Powerbeats Pro connect seamlessly between multiple devices.

Set alarms/timers, math problems, convert measurements, send text messages, set reminders, open apps, play/pause music, weather, random questions, make phone calls.
