As you are using an iPhone then there is probably no other choice. I have AirPods Pro (1st gen) and Sony WF-1000XM4 and I prefer AirPods. Sony’s sound quality is IMHO better (better bass, wider stage) despite being a lot less comfy (I can not wear them for more than ~2h). Also call quality is better on AirPods at least for me.

I think back when it was I phone 3 4 5 era they used Apple Store as a big selling point they just swapped out phones for new, no drama. This was the beginning, and for a lot of people it was there first experience with apple products. They wanted to make a great impression. It’s not like that anymore but it’s still a very good experience going to the Apple Store and I still get bonus every now and then.

Ive walked out with multiple free upgrades over the years when my phone died. Once even after they told me that wasn’t possible. I keep it friendly even when I get the answer I don’t want, and I think that helps.

This past summer when I ordered my MBP I asked for it to be delivered early, was told it wasn’t possible after they reached out to FedEx. I did in fact get my delivery a few hours later tho! Idk if that was just coincidence or not but it wasn’t scheduled to be delivered for four days and it didn’t say “out for delivery” at any point.

Turn your flash off. If you can rest your hands or arms on something when shooting video it will help but never ever rest the phone on a railing or hard surface because it will vibrate from the sound and destroy the video. Be kind to the people behind you and don’t make them look at your phone screen.

A few tips -

Make sure youve got enough storage space! If youre recording in 4k60fps your storage fills up fast!

Make sure to hold onto your phone real tight, but dont cover the microphone holes!

Lower your display brightness to minimum to be less intrusive to other people

If a slow song comes up and the artist asks for everyone to turn on your phone flashlight - its a perfect opportunity to start a video with the flash on - multitasking baby

Make sure to record some selfie footage of yourself and your close ones too - much better than “just the band” :)

Have fun!

I dont get this consensus. I am a very visual being, if i didnt have a video or at least a photo from a show i would soon even forget how it all looked and felt. Plus i love sharing my experiences with others and i have gone through my footage from previous shows many times over.

So to the op: i guess first make sure to answer this honestly - Do you want to film it because you know you will look back at it? Or do you want to film it just because you feel like you have to?

If its the latter, jusr like with fireworks id recommend recording yourself and your close ones with the selfie camera instead :)

And first and foremost, enjoy your show, wear hearing protection and dont let others tell you how youre allowed/supposed to enjoy a show!

Batteries degrade over time, I'm not really sure what else you expect from your phone.

There are steps you could take to improve the life of your battery, but I don't really understand the difference between the battery life being at 95% at full charge or spending the time of maintaining a charge level between 20% and 80%.

Just use the phone, if it doesn't last the day get an in car charger for it, or charge while you're at work.
