I hate how difficult they make it to actually pay to get it replaced. They ask you 10000 questions and fight against it. I don’t need 15 minutes of Q&A and them typing stuff into the iPad. I know what I want. Take my phone and money and let me leave. It should be a 2 minute interaction, not 15-20.

Yeah this happened to me as well, with both Watch and phone, both having really bad battery issues but battery health stuck just over 80% and no amount of persuading could get them to replace the battery because it was not clearing whatever threshold their diagnostics were showing them.

Considering there are no software updates for it, I would not touch that phone. Like Chemicalsam said, get the SE. It’s going to be supported for way longer, isn’t going to potentially compromise your data, and will be a solid phone for a good few years. Using a phone that hasn’t gotten updates in years is quite frankly dangerous.

That being said, having switched from Android four years ago: enjoy! The hardware is great, it works together, and it’s just fun to use. There are some great threads here too about fun tricks (one of my favourite is that if you accidentally delete something, shake your phone and it will ask you if you want to undo what you just did).

I've sworn by Apple for this single reason. I've gone to android a bunch of times but always go back to apple for their support.. I'm only using a fold for now bc I love the folding aspect, but the fact that apple just has superior support is mind blowing.

I've had issues with a bunch of devices and they're always swift and fast in their repairs, there's been a few times in the past where they just came out with a new phone and took the old one back.

Yes apple is fantastic, as long as you’re not rude. My uncle jumped into a lake with his brand new phone, he was honest with the person at the Genius Bar, they had a good laugh, he got a new phone for $0.

My boyfriend shattered his screen, he had his wallet out to pay for a replacement and they didn’t charge him and also gave him a whole new phone.

My old iPhone went in for a new battery, then went back for a new side button, and they ended up just giving me a new phone “because of my inconvenience”

IMO apple makes great products, but their customer service is what wins me every single time.

If you are asking if the phones Wi-Fi will connect to your router which just happens to use 4G then yes. It will. The source of your internet is irrelevant. Unless you’re getting the iPhone 4 for free why would you even bother? Get an X or an 11 if you want something cheap that will also work on the modern network

I haven't yet. I currently have an android phone and it's complete trash, android is way more vulnerable to malware unlike iOS, and I always have a problems with ghost touch on my screen. No matter how much i wipe it the ghost touch doesen't go away, the screen isn't even cracked. I just needed a good cheap phone that works well so that's why I'm buying a 4S.

I was a Genius for many years. If we broke something during a repair that couldn’t be fixed (like one of the side buttons) we would replace it, but usually for the price of whatever the initial repair was. So if it was a battery replacement, you would get the whole phone for battery cost. I’m in the U.S. though. Australia has some pretty serious consumer protection laws in place, so I wouldn’t doubt if they have to replace it at no charge by law.

Lisssstttteeeeen to meeeeee. Yesterday I had to tell a customer. You came in with a problem. I offered to fix your problem out of my own pocket (I’m not the boss) and you’re still not satisfied. What do you want? Customer: that’s a fair point. I’m done now. I’ll take that offer.

When I worked as a tech specialist, I would bend over backward to make something work out in your favor if you weren’t an asshole to me. We were hardly discouraged from doing that so long as we communicated with the techs in back about it, and didn’t abuse it. Stuff is expensive. Things happen. We’re human, too.
