How much of a klutz are you that you can scratch up a phone screen in a couple months? I’ve put literally one noticeable scratch on a screen, working many construction projects, in the last 20 years. I’ve never used screen protectors.

I would first contact Apple support and ask them to run remote diagnostics to check the hardware for any issues - and if that checks out and they believe the overheating is due to a degraded battery and iOS 16 or a software issue, I would spend the $80 for a battery replacement and try to get some more life out of it and wait to see what the iPhone 15 or 16 looks like. The 11 is a great phone even today.

From my experience, GPS and graphic intensive games tend to heat the phone considerably. Your iPhone 11 is still a very decent device and will continue to get software updates for a few more years, I would definitely go with a battery replacement through Apple.

Good take but I have to disagree. It’s so wild to me that apple is still using a design from 2014 (iPhone 6). Looks incredibly outdated and is priced accordingly. The fact that they include current gen chips is pretty incredible though

Have you tried doing a hard reset? Is it just on certain programs or websites? I found after the last update zillow causes my phone to overheat. Sam’s club app caused my phone to overheat until I removed it and reinstalled it. If all else fails you might try wiping it and reinstalling from backup. Good luck!🙂

That sounds about right lol I have a 12 and my battery is 80%. I’m honestly probably at the point where im Done buying iPhones just because a new one comes out. And im only getting a new one when the battery on this one goes below 70%. So I might just put up with it for another two years and get a new one at that point.
