You don't usually need to close apps, but sometimes there's a glitch where it keeps running in the background.

iOS permits apps to be run in the background for up to 10 minutes. No app can run in the background for more than 10 minutes (unless for something like playing music).

kinda late but completely agree. recently changed to the latest iPhone 14(the normal one not the Plus) and the back button is by far my biggest issue. I'm used to using my phone with my right hand but my right thumb is way too short to reach the left side of the screen to swipe.
I hoped there was some kind of workaround for it in Accessibilities(gesture in assistive touch maybe) but there doesn't seem to be a solution and my thumb isn't going to grow at age 30.
