I missed the bottom row of buttons back when I switched a few years ago. The left side swipe is nice and all but it doesn't replace the dedicated gesture.

That said I find gestures smoother on iPhone overall. Fwiw I use a Pixel 3a as my Android device and while it runs just fine even now the gestures feel like they require more drastic actions.

No. If anything it should make your phone less slow (once you’re past the initial data migration point at least) by relocating photos and files that are taking up space in your internal storage to the cloud.

Are they actually Apple users though. I had this issue when a family member switched to Android for a while (now back on iPhone thankfully). It saw that they had an Apple account and no matter what I did kept trying to send messages using iMessage instead of SMS so none of my messages made it to them but theirs came through to me. They had to do something on their old iPhone to fix it.

OP is also stating that gesture is difficult due to how wide the screen is. You can swiped from the right side of the screen on an Android phone to go back and only move your thumb .25" to make it happen. The iphone has to go from the left and move roughly 1/3 of the way across the screen to complete the process.

Before I had to recently redo some accessories, due to a temporarily botched router upgrade, mine had finally gotten to be pretty reliable at guessing what I wanted. But it took a while and I only have about ten accessories. For example I consistently got the “Let the Dogs out” scene around sunset and sunrise. (It controls several lights.) And it had figured out I tend to turn on the carport light when I take the trash out the night before pickup.

It would be nice if we could use is as a literal favorites list, and add more or fewer tiles as needed.

I did the same switch as you two weeks ago after a lifetime on Galaxy phones. For the life of me I don't understand how there is no back button on iPhones (which is not only a back button but also a cancel button).

Unfortunately we just need to get used to it... There are many that iPhones do better but I am surprised to see how many basic things I am missing compared with Android.

I absolutely do not regret my switch though!

As for you adding card problem, I can't help, I didn't have any issue when switching from Google wallet to Apple Pay.

Good luck!

You don’t.

It seems some of the other replies are trying to tell you how to change the general control center tiles, but the ones you outlined are determined by iOS when you enable the “Home Controls” for the control center. You get what Siri thinks you might want or nothing (aside from the other shortcut Home tile if you enable that instead).

They’re chosen by the system and seem to correspond roughly to Home app “favorites” and whichever ones iOS thinks you’re likely to want based on time of day and location.

And yes, it doesn’t seem to do a consistently great job picking the right ones. Although it’s better or worse depending on how many accessories you have and gradually gets better over time as iOS/Siri learns your routines.

Unfortunately it doesn’t actually act as a user set and expandable favorites list, which would probably be a more useful implementation overall.
