That could work. But I’ll tell you right now from experience. It is going to get really annoying on your end to try and manage. Because with I message it wants to work with you being all in or all out. My mom has tried limiting things like that and it has been a frustrating experience.

Sir. That means you had to unlock the boot loader and load custom firmware. That’s amazing! Good on you getting the Atari, I bet that early access to a more complex user interface gave you the ability from then on to understand future systems.

That’s incredible about the phone system, it’s still crazy to me to think of phone switching stations with the women in there, transferring calls. Very interesting.

I work on a boat so I’m used to buckets as my bathroom haha I would have no problems with an old out house!

Maybe..

Up to August 5, 2022 at least it was possible by using an R-SIM and changing the ICCID.. I don’t know if that exploit has been plugged yet..

.. but think of following:

it’s not a permanent unlocking solution. You’ll need to repeat the steps above if the device is restarted.

To update to the newest iOS, you have to manually enter the ICCID code for you to update the software.

Apple keeps on changing the operation of its activation algorithm blocking all the devices using the R-Sim adapters. This makes all devices using the R-Sim chip dead and you have to wait for the newest version of R-Sim to unlock your device.

Incorrect operation of the chip can lead to problems with the SIM card tray, errors when installing software patches, network errors, or internet problems.

R-Sim drains the battery faster due to the increased power consumption of the iPhone device.

Carrier updates will often pop up on your screen from time to time prompting you to update the patches which can have issues with your unlock code

Scammers: Getting a trusted dealer to buy the chip may be difficult. You need to be very careful when getting the R-Sim chip to avoid being scammed.

And yes, at least in Europe the ops shares the blacklist..

Let me tell you if you live the east function of the AirPods state the eff away from the update.

I have a 14 pro and it’s been a nightmare getting everything to act like it did before the update. That being said some other things do work better, though I can’t tell you immediately what they’ve been.

Maybe wait a while..?

So a potential solution could be:

  • add my Apple ID email for iMessages to existing group iMessages so they can continue to go through as iMessages on iPhone at home
  • tell people to call, not text me, because it will go through as SMS (and I won’t respond lol)
  • deal with the text SMSs as they come in, try to iMessage back later with my email

Does that sound like it would work? It’s mostly the group iMessages that I would like to be able to see on my iPhone at home. All other texts can get lost!

I hope this just isn’t crazy annoying to others. I know it means they’ll text me less but that’s kinda the point
