I keep my iphones for quite a few years and probably go through 3-4 screen protectors, sometimes the corner chips, sometimes the oleophobic coating wears and fingerprints or smudges stay so I replace it, I get cheap $2-3 screen protectors and they are more than enough. Sometimes I like to try out the matte ones for a while too.

4 installments over 6 weeks? You’re telling me someone can’t afford to pay for something right now but will be able to in 6 weeks? What’s the purpose of short-term financing?

As long as you haven’t noticed any fraudulent activity within your Apple account, then you should be fine.
If you wanted to be extra cautious, you would also change the passwords of any other accounts that use the same password as your Apple account (if applicable), or at the very least, change the password of any accounts that use the same email address and password of your Apple account (if necessary).
Not all scammers are clever enough, or care enough, to tap into other accounts that use the same credentials, but it’s very common that they may try. They may also be phishing for the purpose of mass collecting credentials to sell on the darknet.
Again, that’s if you want to be extra cautious, but as long as you change your Apple password you should be alright.

Yes, the phone has to be fully wiped and setup from scratch.
There are unofficial workarounds to get iOS 16 backups to restore onto 15 but it’s impossible to guarantee that it’d work.

It’s a tough call. Going back to when I got my first iPhone back in 2009 I never used a screen protector and never had an issue. Never had anything worse than those micro scratches you have to tilt you phone against the light just right to see. Then on my iPhone 11 I got a decent scratch right in the middle of my screen and wound up living with it for 2 years and it annoyed the hell out of me. Enough so that when I replaced my phone last year with an iPhone 14 I put a screen protector on it. So 1 real scratch in 14 years of having an iPhone, but when I had one I hated it. I guess my answer is you probably don’t need one, but can you live with if it you do get a scratch? If you can’t you should get one.

Oh yeah, the trade in prices are terrible. I was trying to say that the price of a Mac Pro could be equivalent to a down payment.

I wonder how this will turn out though with Apple also being a retailer themselves. Hundreds of retailers in the past have gotten into trouble for essentially running as a bank with lines of credit and things like that, and this is walking a fine line into that. Apple gets away with the Apple Card, because jt’s handled through Synchrony Bank, but this being through them is getting a lot closer to self-banking. Sure, it’s not exactly credit, but I’m still intrigued how Congress and everything will see it.

That's how I always looked at it. If a few bucks now saves me a lot of bucks later and won't negatively affect my use or experience, why not?

Ehem… with HTML only you can’t gather any informations. And with JavaScript, you can’t get that much as well.
I would assume, as long as you are not giving any informations by yourself, you are more or less safe on the web.
The only way to gather more informations not letting the user know about it, is using a vulnerable bug (one of that was getting fixed in iOS 16.3.1), but I don’t know how far you will even get with that.

Sorry but that’s bs, clicking the link won’t give away anyone’s password. That’s why they’re trying to scam you into typing it yourself. You have to allow a website or an app to log in using your Google or apple login; and even if you do it’s encrypted anyway, no one’s gonna see it
