The only decent speakers I have listened to in recent years are my friend's studio monitors and I am not that blown away by the soundstage. It just sounds like an arc of sound placed 3 feet in front of me instead of an arc of sound right in front of my face (but a similar angular size) with HD-800 + Stereo convolver.

Actually headphones with more soundstage sound even less than speakers. It is quite counterintuitive, but this weird 2d extended head stage that headphones like Akg701 and others have is even further away from speakers than headphones that have small soundstage like hd6x0. Actually in any headphone if you have crossfeed to go closer to a speaker representation the soundstage will close in.

HD560s, IE200 w/ springtips and Apple USB-C dongle. Throw in an APP Gen 2 or Buds2 Pro (depending on phone OS).

Create your “it’s not much, but it’s mine” post for a nice little karma boost, then /leave this sub a champion and never look back.

People who compare headphones to speakers have never once in their life set in front of a stereo speaker system. Dont even at me...

You will only realize how truly bad headphone "soundstage" is, even on the HD 800, when you listen to some old hard panned recordings. Due to the headphones channel seperation, one will NEVER get a true stereo image. Speakers on the other hand, even really affordable ones, can deliver a stereo image, which will put any headphone to shame.

how something is tuned doesn't necessarily mean it is better or worse, e.g. better frequency response accuracy, clarity, soundstage, imagine, so many things to take into account besides just one graph of it's tuning

I forget where on the socials, but moondrop has said that this IEM is NOT a chu upgrade and is NOT a chu replacement, so there must be difference in some sense

I understand the complaints from ppls about the sub $20 chifi scene atm, but this is moondrop, this is an icon level chifi company, their new releases shouldn't be underestimated

side note - chu = shit cable, shit build, shit QC lan = detachable cable, all metal build, unknown QC

Edit: I bought it anyway to try bc it looks cool and it's chump change, just waiting on delivery

HD560S is the best I've heard so far. My opinion is likely to change soon as I'm gonna be attending a headphone trade show with some pretty high-end stuff.

I really need to unsub from this reddit. I randomly see this post in my feed and 12 hours later I've spent 650 CAD on an Element 3...

(To be fair I've been eyeing replacements for my fiio k3 and the JDS' ability to quick swap outputs and control the volumes independently is a quality of life feature I've really wanted in an all-in-one...plus that knob...)

I know that you maybe haven’t gotten positive responses. Or people have been snobs here. Please remember that headphones is about listening to and enjoying music. All of these people are suggesting more expensive ones. You got started which is great! Just don’t fall in the money pit like so many others have. If you don’t want to stretch your budget and want more open stuff. You can try the Koss KSC75 (I’ve heard it’s the best for $20), I have the KPH30I’s and I love them. Got them for my family for Christmas and they love them!

If you’re also looking for other content creators to watch, Crinacle is one that I “found” (can’t really use that for famous Crin) after Dankpods.

Enjoy your music and have fun!

Sennheiser Momentum 4, sounds amazing, battery is insane, microphone is great but not the best.

I keep the Technics EAH-AZ60 on the side
