Rs2x, it's just magic with rock. Its about as far from any popular FR curve you can think of but damn if it isn't fun to listen to with specific genres.

Not sure about upgrades, I've been wanting to try out the rs1x for the 50mm driver but have heard its a different flavour. Not as aggressive and exciting.

The 325x was too bassy for me and sounded closer to generic harman.

I‘ve adjusted the volume accordingly and even tweaked the Equalizer but to no avail. I connected the 990s to my phone aswell and watched some movie clips on there, but the same deal… perhaps the headphones are faulty, because I too cannot believe it

My Grado 325is with the garden hose cable still work. I’ve had them for more than 10 years now.

The cable on my Fostex TH-X00 looks all janky, but it still works after 6 or so years.

That’s pretty much it for long lasting headphone cables. I do have some Monoprice RCA cables that are older than middle schoolers 😂

?????

What

Have you adjusted the volume between the two? Because if you use the same volume settings for the 990 as for the hyper x the former will be quieter because it is less efficient.

If that aint it, I don't know what is.

The 990 has EAR PIERCING treble.

You need a DAC and a 6.35mm TRS jack as input....

You could use an Apple dongle and a 3.5mm to 6.35mm cable...

You could also use your mobos line out and said cable...

It aint that hard, is it?????

When it’s about a topic I don’t things about it can be. I never got a clear answer on my issues on what exactly I needed. Do you even know the answer to my question? If so, why do you spend your time berating me for asking a simple question that I wanted an answer to. Takes you just as much time to answer my question as it does the ridicule it.
