Ya I think the inevitable truth is that I will just keep breaking them and needing to replace them. I pretty much only use them at home (I gave up on going out in public with anything I care about years ago) - I should really consider a side-career in wear-testing clothes and electronics. I wish there was something to be done about the length of the cord. The flexibility it offers is great, but so often it just ends up a liability.

"Damage" is an equally valid term, the reply was just a joke. You're good.

Very unlikely. If it‘s not damaged, most certainly not.

Only if you use the walkman to bludgeon the headphones... Which I'd advise against

No. It’s comes down to the power output. Unless the Walkman has been modified it’s output wouldn’t be enough to damage the drivers of your headphones.

Saw them live in some random store in Helsinki and was just wondering...
Who goes to a random ass electronic store in Helsinki and just says...know what? Gimme 1 of them Sennheiser HE-1S please.
You probably cannot even listen to them 🤣

Yeah, my thought is that this entire picture is AI generated. I've got a pretty good amount of Sony product experience and can't recall anything that looks like this.

I hate it when I see people putting a $1000 aero kit on a Honda, when they could have bought the hifiman xs and ef400 that r2r dac/amp

“ who is switching gear all the time”.
Me. Listening to music on my ADX5000 with its delicate, reserved weeb tuning is a vastly different experience than say my Focal Utopia which will rumble and growl at you for instance. It’s fun to experiment in this manner. I’d love to hear the HE1 though but i’d have to travel out of state to ever get the chance.

Yes! They did drop the ball on documenting the HE1. Fostex has that great video of them hand making the cherry wood cups for the TH900. I love stuff like that.

If you drop it from a sufficient height it will probably have enough momentum to do damage, sure

Not likely. Unless it;s developed a defect over the years resulting in a short circuit.

Honestly why? Who is switching gear all the time? If these kick like they should, youd use the hell out of them.
Instead of buying a pair, I'd be more interested in watching an hour long documentary of the research, testing, and building of these. What does that 40k go into I'm wondering?
