I honestly was thinking they're already kinda dying, or at least soon to die because unless manufacturers make a proper use of the bass DD, they don't get much hype, aren't a compelling buy and probably don't make a lot of sales.

Although, now that I think about it, they maybe are relevant whenever crin's "project red" drops, and i guess moondrop, kz and other brands still haven't gotten their hands In a 2DD setup, so who knows.

Yep, there's not really a way to know what's happening, but it's still funny seeing companies try to market 2DD IEMs while missing the point they're popular in the first place.

It's definitely a lot of hype train, but there's definitely improvements going on, and while they have maybe lost their "impressive" factor, i think most models are still pretty good sounding, around the best you can get in the price range, and making diminishing returns hit earlier.

I have the same headset (AKG 553 MKII), it broke after a couple months, I got it replaced, and its almost broken again (earcup nut w/e broken same as what you described) just seems to be a badly designed headset in terms of durability; just normal use seems to be enough to break it (I never dropped either).

(I am not really into headsets, I just noticed this post while scrolling down and how I had a somewhat similar experience)

Thanks for this, I also am not familiar with dsp but will look it up. With the price difference between the adi-2 and topping it must be a game changer, that and the fact it seems to be bigger and have and a four pin connector so it most likely drives much more power.

Then, as a headphones-person, you must be extraordinarily bored of discussion about headphones. With the HD600 being....the go to recommendation for ~30 years and running.

Sorry but what are you basing this claim on? Is all you’ve ever heard a 650 and an Zen dac? You seem to have a very limited view of what this hobby can be and what is seen as “good.”

Previously, I had Arctis Pro + GameDAC (it started to break, so I had to move to another headset). I bought H6Pro Open back + GSX 300 bundle a week ago. I'm not sure how I feel about them, but somehow it seems like a downgrade from the Arctis Pro, I don't know how. But the surround sound, using EPOS software sounds quite muffled/muddy/many sounds stuffed in one place?? I'm not sure how to describe it. And yeah, EPOS software is pretty much garbage. I really don't want to waste my time returning this product back but I want a good quality audio for gaming, music, movies.

What's your experience with it? Would you say that the 560s is superior to this one?

I'm really not sure how I feel about them, but going from Arctis Pro to this headset even sound like a downgrade? Do you think is that possible? I find the surround sound a bit muddy or muffled (I don't know these terms). The EPOS software is pretty much garbage, to be honest...

What was your experience with this headset?
