I broke the cable on mine the very first day it just got stuck to the mmcx adapter. Mind you at the same time I got the Tin P1 for $70, and after EQ those demolish anything the FH3 had to provide. But I did prefer them to the Starlight

He mustve not gotten a good seal! It's not good bass, but it's a lot of bass.

I also find them kinda uncomfortable... But i think the biggest problem is the cable... Which is too stiff and heavy... (i have relatively small/medium ears)...

But honestly I like the sound... I just don't like that the distortion in mids i clearly audible when you do a frequency sweep... Otherwise it's not really that audible with music...

But I can see how for some the bass can be overpowering... Although I gave them to my dad to try them out and he just turned to me and asked me "Where's the bass?"

You should check out Sennheiser HD25's, they might not look as cool as those, but they are still made and you can get one new, so you don't have to pay some insane price on those used.

edit: forgot to mention that HD25's are closed back and 424's are open back.

I also dislike the 6XX and the Starlight lol. After 3 years with the 6XX I never felt inclined to use them, even when they were my only headphones.

On the fiio, the bass was overpowering, the mids were tonally wrong (similar to how HE400 OG just sounds wrong) and EQ could fix some, but not all the issues I heard. But my main issue with it was the fit. I couldn't wear them longer than 20 minutes, and I have big ears.

The foam filter I'm talking about is in the eartips, the IEM itself still has a grille and internal filter like this. There are many IEM's with more open ports if you're concerned about wax or debris getting in the IEM itself. You can take the foam out of the stock eartips though and put it in other ones but I don't know how well it would stay in. The Senn IE Pro eartips have foam filters in as well but don't have paper-thin silicone like the IE300/600/900 stock eartips (I think IE200 as well).

From my experience Edition XS are quite power hungry, the more you give them, the better they perform. One of the best amp match I had the chance to try was the Burson Conductor HA160D. Plenty of dynamics and terrific bass extension and speed. So look for something with at least 4w at 16 ohm and you should be more than happy.

nah, the cheap tube amps like those two have poor quality control and are muddy. on the other hand, vali isn’t a great value because it just sounds like a solid state. i would recommend valhalla, a diy sangaku, or maybe a bottlehead crack if you like it really warm. that being said i got a piety too and it’s pretty great for the price so don’t get too much fomo

RCA Command 5670 NOS was recommended to me. Another user told me they got the tube “holographic” quality they had been searching for when they tried that tube with the V2++. I have one of the RCA Command tubes and I’ll try it out when/if I ever get a V2++
