Yeah I prefer a tube-like euphoric sound. Hence why I got the Piety over the Magni+. I only wanted to go for the piety because I originally had a vali 2+ that was disappointingly not very tubey at all. The Piety is much more tube-sounding imo.

I pair my current stack with SDR modded HD800 if you were wondering.

This submission has automatically been removed due to the following rule:

>Rule 2: Ask purchase and shopping questions in the Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk > > Requests for product opinions, comparisons, and general purchase advice must be made in the dedicated Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk instead of a new post.

Portable audio related purchase advice may also be asked in r/HeadphoneAdvice but please familiarize yourself with their rules first.

What questions are considered purchase advice?

  • A request for product suggestions, comparison requests, or opinion requests fall under the purchase advice rule. These can often be found by searching first.

  • Any suggestion or comparison request pertaining to headphones, IEMs, DACs, amps, or other accessories should be directed to the purchase help thread or r/headphoneadvice.

  • Asking the subreddit to help make a decision to buy a product does fall under this rule (e.g. "should I get dekoni pads for my HD650?").

Why does this rule even exist?

I'm certain that my post wasn’t asking for product opinions or purchase advice!

  • Thanks for reading the above and making it this far.

The M+ sounds great and neutral, the MP sounds distinct. I prefer the MP sound because it is enjoyable to my ears. If you want just straight up as is or neutral sound, you might enjoy M+ more. They both sound great with the HD600 imo.

Glad you're liking your Zen stack. I got it a while ago as I wanted an upgrade to my K5 Pro. I was very disappointed with the sound of the stack. I found the sound to be very harsh and the bass too weak and soft. This was through the single ended output. I've never tried the balanced output so it might be much better through that. Are you using yours balanced out of curiosity?

I have tried the E10K and I think with the 6XX it did sound anemic/bright. Compared to the iFi Nano I had back then, the Nano had better bass, mids and a more controlled yet detailed treble than the E10K. Since then I have upgraded to a iFi iDSD signature for portable use and the Hifiman EF400 for desktop use and while they do have their own sound signature, they both do have a very similar overall sonic presentation to the iFi Nano I had back then. So yeah basically I think upgrading to something in the $150-$250 range definitely be an improvement and should give you the proper sound out of the headphones in all frequencies.

Interesting. My experience with TWS has shown that the pairing is a function of the case and not the buds so I feel its best to be cautious unless you know the answer.

I was merely suggesting that OP does not base their buying decision on a chance of old buds working with new case.

The Scarlett is I think a particular good option for someone who wants a mic interface to double as a hifi headphone interface. Maybe some marketing puffery, but they at least make an effort to market to that demographic, with some specific emphasis on their headphone amp circuitry.

I've had cutting out/crashing issues with a couple of different mic interfaces I've used, which I suspect may be power-related, being limited to USB power. That's namely Rode's mic interface (the AI-1) and the GoXLR mini. The Rode would just switch itself off sometimes when i had my headphones plugged into it, and the GoXLR had maddening issues with intermittent audio dropouts.

Depending on the kind of electronic music, the tracks might not have that much content in the true sub-bass (e.g. <50 Hz). Most electronic drum hits, and even many rumbles, in my music collection are somewhere between 50 and 150 Hz in terms of fundamental (I run a real-time spectrum analyzer in my music player). So a lack of sub-bass extension might not affect bass perception that much, as a hump in the 70-150 Hz region boosts the parts of bass that matter most. And that's before psychoacoustic effects like missing fundamental can boost the perception of the sub-bass, even if the sub-bass tones aren't actually being reproduced.

Hello, they don't require a lot of power but they're pretty transparent to the source. If your source has a thin sound, you will hear that and it pretty unpleasant (harsh treble). I believe they pair really good with warm sounding sources such as an iFi Zen DAC. Had them twice in the past.
