I meant more not popular but heavily marketing products instead of quality, raycons, ridge wallet, manacaped etc AirPods aren’t sponsored by all the YouTubers streamers etc you don’t see ads for them everywhere.

What a shame. I almost bought them because of the Sean Olive Amazon review and how close they were to the Harman target.

Could unit variation be that big? or are Sean Olive measurements not that reliable? As I saw Sharur's review of the TUNE230NC that had a 78% predicted preference in Sean Olive's graph but measured very differently in Sharur's rig, more bloated bass and peaky in the treble.

That looks very strange to me. I wouldn't have thought any part of the treble goes above Harman and mostly stays 1-2dB below. I listened to many tracks that I often have treble issues with Beat by Tingvall Trio for example or Radha Kaise Na Jale by A.R. Rahman and they're easy to listen to at high volumes.

Looking at Amazon reviews I actually found one from Sean Olive!, the director in research and developing in the Harman target, and he found them to be exceptionally close tuned to the target and a great option for less than $20.

Didn't know you could get a passive Harman tuned IEM for less than the Truthear Zero. For that price I'll buy one just to try.

It’s very hipster to assume anything popular is actually bad. I think it’s probably the case that most mass manufactured stuff is bad regardless of whether it’s marketed or not—making good things is hard and expensive.

As a counterpoint, I think AirPods are actually pretty good, despite being one of the most advertised and most popular headphones in existence.

I thought so too. Buy no, the laptop is louder than my E10k on low gain. There's more details on the E10k because the percussion does not overpower the strings and vice versa as most details tend to be on treble are since I listen to music with strings a lot.

Im just confused as to which one is the real sound so I can experiment with Harman EQ and the oratory1990 presets.

My wife has sensory sensitivities around anything on/over/in her ears. She can barely handle work calls, she doesn’t want to spend a single minute with headphones on she doesn’t have to.

It’s OK. We also have nice speakers and she appreciates those.

Right? What's the deal with that? 7 people tried my headphones, age around 23 and 45+, and every time they crank up the volume really high. To the point it's absolutely unlistenable to me and I hear everything when they have it on. Why does that happen? Is my hearing that sensitive? They add like 45 dB if I would have to guess, insane.
