Is this the iem/headphone with the best vocals out if your collection? I have the er2se and the 560s but I still want more resolution. I got the 7hz Timeless but felt that the instrumentals were placed in front of the vocalist which made the mids sound overshadowed and muted. Would you consider the ie200 to have the best midrange. Also how does the technical performance compare to the ie300 and z12?

I initially purchased and fell in love with the HD600 based off browsing here in this sub. The first amp recommended for me to pair with it was the Magni Piety, but I had already missed the launch, and eBay sellers are greedy as all get out. So I purchased a Magni+ and had been happy using that with my HD600. Now as of today I received my first stand-alone dac in the MMB2, and I also had delivered today a Magni Piety I purchased at an incredibly fair price from an incredibly kind fellow headphone hobbyist. This is my Happy-And-Content game. Someday I want a Vali 2++ to try a couple of tubes out, but I don’t want to go past that. This hobby easily turns into chasing down the next thing…I’m content and thankful.

Nope. Not that simple.

There's acoustic dampening and other trickery in the cups that differ in open-back and closed-back models. Even if you somehow added closed-back cups to the LCD-2C, they would sound like shit because they're tuned to be an open-back.

I like my headphones for their own unique flavor, I didn't buy them to make them sound like something else.

EQ if you like, don't EQ if you like. There are no rules. Do what you enjoy.

Crin's graph tool, squig.link and others support a few targets by default (right below the chart) like Harman targets, IEF Neutral, Diffuse Field, etc. Select your headphones, your target of choice, press the AutoEQ button, and the tool will generate EQ parameters. Afterwards you can even tweak the generated EQ params and see the resulting frequency response curve (typical use-case is if you want more bass for example). This works really well. But if you want to use your own custom target, it looks like you need to use the actual AutoEq tool written in Python... I've never done this though. Actually the graph tools have an "Upload Target" button in the "Equalizer" tab which looks like it can be used for custom targets.

Edit: apparently you can also select another headphones' frequency response as a target. Nice!
