Just loving the warm orange theme of this.
It is how many winter nights are etched in my memory. Out on drives with my father.

They did, but the pixels were tied to the resolution, the pixel ratio was unafected and there was no antialiasing of it.

If you look at the middle without focusing on anything, you can see there's a very brief moment when all orbs are moving downwards in unison. It only lasts for a couple of frames but is very satisfying. Like a massage to your brain.

Actual old pixel based games rotated and scaled back then too.
Castlevania 4 on and contra 3 did it on snes
Space Harrier did it on sega systems

It wants you to put something in before starting it.
I find this happens if you try to use the microwave when the door hasn't been opened recently. Even if you put something in 5 minutes ago, since the door wasn't operated recently it assumes nothing is inside, so it won't run thinking it's empty and you forgot your food/drink.

I wish I knew the word for the feeling i get when I see pixel art like this. It's almost nostalgia but it's more like I want to live in that simple magical snippet of a world..

You do realize that the Mississippi River starts in Minnesota, right? It isn’t fed by any Canadian rivers.
