I was almost thinking he was holding the baby in one arm, the beer in the other then quickly let go of the baby, reached up, caught the ball and grabbed the baby before gravity could do its thing.

Are you talking about the four or five trials he had to do WITHOUT using the Sword of Omens? I think he had to fight Panthro hand to hand combat in the first trial, race Cheetara in another, and the other two were competing against Tygra, Wily Kit and Wily Kat, and IIRC, he even makes a visit to Mumm-Ra?
