If you have no experience playing RPGs, FFX is the best starting point. The battle system doesn't punish you for slow decision making, and the leveling system is straightforward.

Fun fact, the parts system has been around since the first game. The only thing 3 did different in that regard was to let you actually inspect the parts.

I love BioWare games. This was hyped so much. The teasers looked great. The actual game was so much nothing. I am still in awe of how bad it was. I still wonder if it couldn't have been made into something good with more time and money. It had a lot of foundation that would have been a decent platform for a real game. In short, I agree with you so much.

Reminds me of Return to Zork.

All PS slims were redesigned, PS3 even went through 2 major variations and since PS5 is similar in size and ugliness to the PS3 fat, I'm expecting a similar grade of change in both dimensions and aesthetic. I've always been a Sony fanboy but PS5 being both hideous and hard to find convinced me to wait.

Dude I worked in this field and still have plenty of colleagues currently in game development. Companies have way more staff, WAY way more overhead and take on a lot more risk than 20 years ago. This more than justifies the prices. Sure, some companies sell a lot more and create record profits but all it takes is one game that flops that can throw a developer close to bankruptcy. It's very similar in the movie world too these days.

I would go ps5. But i also have the psvr from the ps4 and am aiming for psvr 2 as well. the playstation vr (the first one anyways) is pretty good.

I started off reading this with the mindset of "I haven't played 3, but have played the previous titles so let's see what's up." Once you mentioned the twins I remembered that I have, in fact, played BL3, and I think that about sums up my thoughts and feelings on the game.
