OP makes so little sense. Developers create base games and DLC, because people buy it, not the other way around. If you don't want to add DLC to the games you've bought, then don't buy that DLC. If you think a game isn't worth the price tag, don't buy the game.

Do not mistake your personal dislike for paid DLC, for an industrywide dislike for paid DLC. Apparently, lots of people love buying additional stuff for their games. It makes perfect sense that developers answer that desire by offering stuff at a price.

Stop buying the latest COD at full price and then five more skins/guns/whatevers, buy better games at better prices. I promise, you're not missing out on much.

That isn't that big an increase. Games have been 50-60 for decades, and expansions were always expensive when they required their own disks and packaging. You did usually get more from them (but not always).

I really dislike the predatory micro transactions, but I still don't think prices have caught up with when I bought Metroid for $30 in 1980's money.

FF8 was my first rpg, so would always say it’s my fave because it just has that special place in my heart. 7,8,9 and 10 are known for being the best in the series. 8 had kinda mixed reviews from fans it was an either you loved it or hated it. A lot of the hate was about the junction and draw system. It is also the most technologically advanced story wise in the final fantasy universe so some people view it more sci fi. But it also has some of the best theories from fans, even though the creators debunked the theories they are still interesting to read. Also even the people who hated it still love triple triad, which is a card game in the game.
