God of War Ragnarok holds up pretty well even today.

Ah, this brings me back to my childhood in the '90s. Family's first PC (a Gateway, of course) that wasn't related to my Dad's job.

This game, Command & Conquer, Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, Civilization II, Duke Nukem 3D ...

I can reference a game while also referencing that I've been playing games for a long time, Why does your mind instantly assume my first game was halo 3 and that I consider halo 3 an old school gamer game???

I consider halo 3 old but there's 100+ games that are way older, yet your mind thinks I meant halo 3 is a super old game and in your head there's no possible way I can call myself an old gamer if I think halo 3 is old...That logic just baffles my mind....

God forbid I notice what twenty years has done to the online gaming scene and I reference a game that was booming when online gaming was good for the consumer.

Fair enough, I'm not bored yet by it myself but with the open world thats been introduced that may change since i tend to struggle with huge open maps and lose interest. So far though it's enjoyable for me still.

FYI: FF is all JRPG. There are no shooter or slasher titles. It's all swords & magic, fantasy type stuff with some sci-fi elements depending on what game you're playing.

As for what game, you have some good suggestions, it depends on what sort of rpg you're looking for I'd think.

Maybe turn based stuff like Slay the Spire or Final Fantasy. Or Until Dawn which is mostly point and click with a few timed events, it's a teen horror game of survival. 2018 God of War is very easy on easy mode with a fantastic story. Abzu or Journey are essentially plotless explore games and both are beautiful.

No I bought it two days ago. I was talking about season one on the PS3.

It's publishers, CEOs, shareholders, and probably half a dozen other positions that also do the locust thing pushing this stuff. You can bet your last Haribo that devs as a whole aren't seeing a penny of the battle pass/gacha/EXP booster money- or if they are, it's the scraps left over after the leeches are done, if said leeches are feeling generous.
