Minecraft was the first one that came into my mind, but after second thought skyrim was my first rpg I played. I only played shooters up until then pretty much. But I bought it off of a friend for like 40$ and turned into a game I had the most hours in easily.

I'm excited and also scared for whenever ES6 comes out lol.

Why would you ever buy one of these games?

I stopped playing anything that's a live service, don't buy games until a year after release so they have most of the QoL fixes applied unless I really trust the devs and want to support the project.

It's almost like there's thousands of games besides the mainstream ones being shoved down the masses' throats that are already fully worth your time, you just gotta look around a bit for them - because they didn't sink a huge portion of their budget into marketing - because they made a good game.

FF VII comes to mind. Spent a few hours grinding AP and EXP at North Crater to get every materia and character to max level. Didn't save during the grind. As I was finally heading back to the save crystal, a battle with one Ahriman started. For some weird reason, maybe out of boredom, I tossed a random battle item at the Ahriman, which triggered it to counter with LVL3 Death. Whole party was KOd because I had just achieved lvl99 with everyone. I just sat there watching the game over screen with blank eyes for a while... and started over. Felt nice.

We’re all good. I edited my previous comment cause I felt bad but I realize it doesn’t make your reaction look justified anymore, not my intention lol

This is one of the greatest things I’ve seen in a while. You must really love your dad. As a father, that makes my heart happy. It looks awesome, friend!

On a side note, I knew I would encounter a post like this eventually. But now, knocking on 40 years old and faced with a post from someone old enough to get a tattoo talking about their dad playing games I played, I’m not sure how to feel 😂

Probably 1000 games are going to release this calendar year that do exactly that
